Sharon Stone is the cover star of Town & Country’s October 2020 issue, on newsstands now.
The Oscar-winning actress comes to Town & Country ahead of the debut of her new Netflix series, ‘Ratched’ (premiering September 18). Inside her cover story, Stone opens up about why her ‘Ratched’ character, Lenore Osgood, is “completely insane,” how she feels about being a sexagenarian icon, why she believes people should wear masks for Covid-19 safety, online dating, Kamala Harris, and more.
On her character, Lenore Osgood, in her upcoming Netflix series, Ratched: “She’s completely insane. And at the same time she thinks she’s really a loving mother who has her shit together.”
On acknowledging her reality as a sexagenarian icon: “People still want to see my boobs. I’m 62! It’s like, ‘Really? Grow up!’ But also [she throws her hands up theatrically] ‘Here’s some boobs!’”
On surviving a brain hemorrhage in 2001: “I just was so blessed that I got to live. And then I was equally if not more blessed that I got to learn to work around my brain damage,”
On wearing a mask during for Covid-19 safety: “Simmer the fuck down and put on a mask! I’m sorry, I’ve been trying to be nice about this, but it’s starting to chap my ass. It’s hard not to take it personally.”
On Kamala Harris as the Democratic vice-presidential nominee: “You know I love a revolution!”
On trying online dating with Bumble: “Oh god, I wish I’d stayed kicked off it. It’s like a comedy.”
