It hasn’t been the kind of week that allows for much fashion talk (in the middle of a months-long period where such conversations grow rarer by the day), but at least we have everyone’s favorite stylish psycho killer to serve us a few more lewks to tide us over until red carpets return to our lives again.

Personally, we would not have styled this coat with a pair of square-toed lace-up boots, but that’s the great thing about costume designer Sam Perry’s choices. She takes these high-fashion items and then styles them counter-intuitively in order to showcase Villanelle’s off-kilter way of thinking as well as her disinterest in making herself pretty in the expected manner.

It’s an absolute stunner. The color’s tough to pull off and we’re not sure the bow around the collar is the kind of detail that works for everyone, but it’s perfectly chosen for this character.

Once again we don’t think we’d have rec’d that shoe choice for anyone who wanted to wear this in public, but from a character perspective, it’s perfect. Villanelle would absolute want to pair a kickass pantsuit with an ass-kicking pair of boots.

God, we’d LOVE to see this on a red carpet. Granted, we’d love to see just about anything on a red carpet right now, but this would take such a fantastic picture on the right person. Cate or Lupita would make this sing.
