We’re generally not fans of midriff cutouts on the red carpet. And while we’ve never had to articulate this before (because it’s never come up), it turns out we’re generally not fans of wearing bathing suits on the red carpet either. Nevertheless…
We think she’s absolutely slaying this. We still maintain that belly cutouts are dicey in formalwear and bathing suits should be considered an absolute no in almost all cases, but this looks like a modern dance costume (helped a bit by the hair), and while that may seem kind of gimmicky for a red carpet, she looks absolutely amazing in it. The kind of look that you can’t help but stare at, wondering what the wearer’s going to do next. If she broke out in some Martha Graham – or more appropriately, Katherine Dunham – piece right there in front of the cameras, we’d not only be delighted, but we’d think it was the most natural thing in the world for her to be doing at that moment.
