Style File: Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab and Georges Hobeika Couture

Posted on January 13, 2020

Jennifer Lopez did not get an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress and the world is poorer for it. She’ll have to console herself with the dozen-plus critics awards and over two dozen nominations she’s already racked up, and we figure she’ll probably get asked to present, which means there’s still the possibility of a Cher-like fashion middle-finger on Oscar night, but we were robbed of a Joan Crawford level of Oscar fashion campaigning. On the other hand, we’d love it if she told the Academy to fuck off and get somebody else to present. She won’t, because she’s a consummate professional, but you’ve got to figure she’d want to. Anyway, there’s still awards season fashion on the table to judge and she’ll still have some big-name red carpets to walk over the next month. She hasn’t left us completely, kittens. Weep not. And put your judgin’ pants on.

It’s boobtacular and it’s definitely way too long, but it’s got that dreamy/sexy vibe she does so well. Love the color, belt and sleeves. The hair’s a little wonky, though.

This is Classic Jenny: Neutral, polished, body-con, and covered in diamonds. She’s pulling it off, but we don’t love the design of the bodice. That “nude” panel is pretty awful.
