Miss Normani comes out strong in a type of look we like to call FI-HI.
First Impression, High Impact.
It’s a type of look that’s always about being more than the sum of its parts. A type of look that turns heads and forces consideration but doesn’t necessarily hold up to scrutiny. A perfect runway look and sometimes a perfect red carpet look if the impact is high enough. Look at J Lo’s legendary tropical Versace gown. There was nothing to that thing. It was all her.
Anyway, our points: the print is better from far away, the pants are so tight they look like activewear, and she’s sweating all over the inside of her ghost shoes. Also, to be perfectly nitpicky bitches about it, we think a pendant would clearly be better than a choker.
Still, it got our initial attention and that will always be the first job of any red carpet look. Not so much to get OUR attention, but to get attention in the general sense.
But okay, yes. It has to get our attention. Also: we just made up FIHI five minutes ago.
