Brace yourselves, darlings. Major developments are unfolding in Anistonia. Miss Jen, who has been wearing the exact same plain black dress to every public appearance since Friends went off the air (possible slight exaggeration), is stepping out in something entirely outside her wheelhouse. Please remember to keep your reactions to a minimum so as not to startle her and send her scurrying back to the safety of funeral wear.

Yes, it’s true. Jennifer Aniston is sporting a ruffled print dress. Jennifer Aniston is standing before you with her heart on her sleeve and a car on her stomach. We should all be gentle and supportive at this highly vulnerable time.

Bitchiness aside, while this might not be the direction we’d have sent her in (had she asked, which she will no doubt do very soon), we really do think the risk this represents to her should be applauded and supported. It’s stylish and different, with one of the more unusual – but still eye-catching prints you’ll see on the average red carpet. Of course there’s no color involved here. Baby steps for Jen. Someone’ll get her in a lipstick red one of these days.
