Miss Laura, who is possibly about to ride a cresting award season buzz-wave to come, is ramping up her promo style considerably. She’s always been one to give us something to talk about when she steps out on a red carpet, these efforts feel much more energized than her usual.

And a very merry Christmas to you too, dear. Sorry, but this screams Holiday Hostess to us. We don’t hate it but we’re not crazy about the visible bra or the satin bows — and we’re not sure black boots were the way to go here. It’s a strong look with a little bit of glamour to it but some of the details are off.

One thing every actor should do the very second they start getting awards buzz is to pose in front of a gigantic Oscar statue. Well done, Miss Laura. And well done on the choice of frock this time. This one still has a sort of Christmassy feel to it, and we still don’t think boots quite make sense here given that she’s sleeveless, but it’s a sharp little dress and she looks great.

A sudden swerve! Spring time and lady-like! Personally we think this dress has too much color and skirt for her. That shirred bust is kind of mumsy-looking and the color isn’t all that great for her. Sorry, diva. But thanks for giving us all something to talk about this afternoon!
