We always consider Jennifer Lopez to be one of the last old-school female movie stars. In a lot of ways, she’s a throwback to the silver screen divas of Hollywood’s Golden Age. We’ve lost count of how many times we’ve compared her to Joan Crawford. Usually, when we’re making a comparison like that, it’s referring to her public style choices and how she always dresses to give her fans what they want to see from her a la Crawford and a million other old legends. But there’s another reason she’s comparable to the goddesses of the Golden Age.
She rarely makes movies where she doesn’t look SPECTACULAR in at least 40% of the scenes. She’s served her time playing maids and cops and strippers and thieves, but she always gets some high-fashion or high-glam scene to give the ticket-buyers what they came to see, old-school style. We’ve always loved that about her.
Nice to see Samwell getting some work.
