Miss Jennifer heads in an unexpected style direction but at least she hit the mark on appropriateness.
She doesn’t seem to quite grasp how slingbacks are supposed to work, though; does she? That aside we’re not sure what to think of this. It’s certainly appropriate for the venue, which is not something you can say about a lot of the celebrity getups at this particular event. The dress has a sweet, breezy summertime casual chic feel to it (part of it, anyway), which makes it a nice change from the serious and ill-suited Dior she’s contractually obligated to wear a lot of the time. Having said that, we think we like the idea of this look more than the reality of it. That bodice is overdesigned and doesn’t marry well to the skirt at all. The seaming and buttons add a highly structured feel that not only doesn’t go with the skirt, it doesn’t really go with the spaghetti straps either. And the pinks don’t even match, which we realize is probably deliberate but doesn’t really come off like it was.
