Miss Daisy’s getting a go at a feminist take on Hamlet, and we find her choice of promo style to be notably interesting.
Normally, when you’ve got an English ingenue doing promo work for a Shakespeare film, you expect to see her in slightly romantic fare; perfect for promoting an Oscar-baiting prestige project (as all Shakespeare or Shakespeare-adjacent films tend to be seen). This is both sharply businesslike and has a slightly old Hollywood/1930s undertone to it. It works both because it suits her extremely well and it’s just a little unexpected, given what she’s promoting.
