Miss Millie and her style team continue their attempts to straddle the line between haute couture sophistication and age-appropriate fashion.
This time, they took a page from the Elle Fanning playbook, leaning hard in on the classic ingenue/princess style. It’s a beautiful gown, if a bit too neutral in color and classic in style to feel particularly fresh. Once again, the styling is going in two different directions; playful and young with the bag (which honestly doesn’t pair well with the dress), sleek and sophisticated with the hair (which also doesn’t play well with the dress) and a bit heavy on the makeup (which – guess what?). It doesn’t really work in combination, we’re afraid. A cleaner face, bigger hair, and something a bit more “fairy princess” and a bit less “Barbie” for the accessories. No one asked us, but that’s the route we’d have recommended.
