Why Miss Elle Fanning. As we live and breathe.
As we’ve mentioned, we were pleasantly surprised to see that a lot of the celebs at the Met Gala this year managed a pretty decent sort of Camp Cosplay in response to the theme of the exhibit. In other words, they can’t be campy on demand themselves but they can wear or pay tribute a lot of the signifiers of camp.
It’s retro, it’s got that “low culture” feel of underground trash cinema of the ’60s and ’70s and it’s dripping with cheap old trinkets. It’s Tacky Camp. It’s a high-fashion representation of the John Waters school of camp. Meet Dawn Davenport‘s bitchy cousin Mimi.
Well done, Miss Elle. Well done.
