Transparency-in-blogging time: We’ve been sitting on these shots for days because in all honesty, we don’t quite know what to say here.
It’s a look that demands commentary, after all. It’s got that cartoon couture quality that we think her best fashion choices tend to have. But we don’t know, kittens. It just doesn’t feel remotely fresh to us. We realize her career is perhaps on a bit more of a mainstream entertainment path, but it’s striking to us when we consider the fact that she’s a contemporary of Lady Gaga and Beyonce. And we point to those two specifically because we can honestly see either of them working this exact look and not coming off like they stole something from Helen Mirren’s closet. It comes down to styling and put bluntly, her hair and makeup just aren’t helping her here.
