Two things by way of an introduction, kittens: first, it seems like we haven’t had a good “IN or OUT” vote in a dog’s age, what with all the Met Gala coverage last week (and the relative pointlessness of subjecting that costume parade to the usual style critiques). Second, the upfronts have been a fairly low-key, professional-toned sort of presentation this year. In other words, everyone came dressed like bank managers and that’s just no fun for us. Enter Miss Julianne in a dress that refuses to be ignored and has no intention of going un-discussed.
On second thought, maybe it’s mean of us to put this one up to a vote. Experience tells us it’s not the kind of look that tends to garner huzzahs of praise ’round these here parts. From our perspective, it’s less of a “What a fabulous frock!” reaction and more of “THANK GOD someone wore something interesting to the PTA meeting.” Girlfriend came to stand out and stand out she did. The only question now is, was it worth it? Or put another way…
