Since she won’t be riding that train into the Oscars ceremony, Miss Emily’s Mary Poppins-based promotional work is all wrapped up, leaving her the freedom to step away from all that whimsy and sparkle and into some smart working clothes.
We just wish it all fit a bit better. The color is fantastic on her and we like the printed crew neck top as a blouse replacement, but everything’s just a bit too slouchy. Miss E is adept at working a range of stylish and chic looks, but it takes a ten-foot tall model to make a fire-red pantsuit with bell bottoms look perfect. Love the look, but the silhouette isn’t for her. Since this is essentially a night off for her (it’s not her film), she gets a pass and some kudos for putting this much effort in. It’s fun, just not as well suited to her as it could be.
