Every time Sandy embraces color, we like to take credit for it. Let a couple of queens have their delusions, alright? We’ve been whining about this for a long time. She’s gotten slightly better about it in the last couple of years, seemingly realizing on some level that the fitted metallic sheaths she’d favored for so long might not be giving her the same kind of returns as they used to, but girlfriend really busted out of her style box with these two looks:

It takes a special lady to work a bright yellow faux fur and thigh-high boots – and NOT have it come off looking tacky or cheap. We’re not really feeling the dress at all, but it almost doesn’t matter to the look. It’s all about the outerwear and the footwear, which is exactly what your style is supposed to be about when the weather’s cold. It all feels just slightly thrown together instead of curated, but that might be part of its gym. Despite clearly being styled for cameras, it has the feel of a real-world sort of outfit.

This, on the other hand, takes a bit more work to accept. That brilliantly bold red looks amazing on her. It’s not the easiest red to work because it can come off really harsh and garish against the wrong coloring for it.Love the hair, love the matching lip, kind of okay on the bodice. It’s that skirt that causes the needle scratch sound in our heads. As much as we might be grateful that she picked something with a little bit of shape to it, this thing has just a bit too much shape to work. Everything from the waist up? Sleek, chic, and bold. Perfect for her. From the waist down? Total car crash.
