Duchess Megs had herself a pretty good stretch of looks these past twelve hours. Recognize.
Also, in the interests of full disclosure, we got so excited that she wore something brightly colored that we were seconds away from publishing this post with the title “DUCHESS OF COLO(U)R!” without even thinking of the dual meaning of the phrase. What can we say? We need more coffee. Anyway…
A lot of kittens better versed in these things than these two queens have noted that Meghan’s makeup has been looking a little harsh throughout the tour. But she looks really pretty here, no? Those earrings are doing a great job of framing and highlighting her face. The bangles are nice accompaniment as well. The Dress? Meh. It’s okay. Looks a little like a SCUBA suit from the waist up.
And lo did the heavens open and a glorious light shine upon the world. The Duchess discovered red.
You’ll forgive us. We’re going to need a moment here. We’ve been waiting so long, darlings.
Okay, we’re composed now and what we have to say, after careful consideration, is this: HOLY JESUS LADY WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU BECAUSE YOU LOOK FLAMAZING IN THAT COLOR. Pardon us; colour.
Seriously! Look how great she looks! Look at how little details like pleats, and eyelet effects, and a more forgiving silhouette work to create a look greater than the sum of its parts! We’re so excited that we won’t even linger on the cringe-inducing tag spotted still hanging from the hem. Miss Duchess, please be taking notes in your big-ass binders. This is the solution to literally every whiny complaint we’ve had about your style all year. You don’t have to be a TV star and you don’t have to be Kate Middleton. You can be this: a stylish, boundary-pushing royal with her own look and flare. More, please.
Or we guess you could go right back to colorless sheaths. Oh, well. This one looks pretty great on you. The arm details give it an odd shape, but the beading is lovely and coordinates nicely with the jewelry. And she always looks great in an up do, which is why we think she should sport them more often.
Harry’s looking tasty in that tux. He’s been looking more disheveled than usual this past week. Reading the tea leaves, he’s come off slightly overwhelmed at times during this tour. We’ve covered plenty of his solo outings when he was single and there was a lot more of that ol’ freewheelin’ Harry on display than we see now. This series of tour events are more formal in nature than a lot of the stuff he used to do, plus he’s a Duke, married, and expecting a child now, so any shift in public demeanor is entirely expected. Just interesting to note.
