Why, Josh; are those drumsticks in your pants or are you just happy to see us?
Josh Brolin is spotted in full costume on the set of his new film “Hail, Caesar!” in Los Angeles, California. The movie tells the story of a Hollywood fixer in the 1950s who works to keep the studio’s stars in line.
There’s a lot to recommend about early mid-Century menswear, but the super high-waisted pants should definitely stay in the past. Last year’s Her did a really interesting lo-sci-fi update of the look, but the effect was more satirical than serious – although it did tend to play into the sexless lives of the characters. It’s a look that pretty much requires a fedora, wide tie, and double-breasted jacket to finish it off. And since men don’t tend to wear suits as often as they used to, it’s hard to imagine such high-waisted pants ever coming back in style on a large scale.
