This is going to be an uncharacteristically nice rundown, kittens. Our TIFF coverage is backing up, because the stars are really bringing their A game to this film festival and we can’t seem to keep up while still doing the whole Fashion Week thing. So here it is. An extremely rare case of T Lo doing driveby niceness. Mark your calendars and let’s get to it.
Abigail Spencer in Dolce&Gabbana
Abigail Spencer attends the premiere of “This Is Where I Leave You” during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
Stunning. Jaw-dropping. She is serving up Capulet family realness and we are HERE for that. She is perfectly suited to the dress and so is the styling. Brava.
Jessica Chastain in Christian Dior
Jessica Chastain attends the premiere of “Miss Julie” premiere during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
Cute. Sassy. Still don’t love the hair. Pink pumps would’ve been fun.
Connie Britton in Sachin & Babi
Connie Britton attends the premiere of “This Is Where I Leave You” during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
Really love the silver rose fabric. Kinda wish the whole dress had been made out of it. Still, it’s a striking look.
Naomi Watts in Antonio Berardi
Naomi Watts attends the premiere of “While We’re Young” during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
Okay, this is the only one we’re going to be not-nice about. The blocking around the waist looks almost exactly like a garter belt. It’s really distracting. We could have lived with it, but the silver horns take it past acceptable.
Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji
Octavia Spencer attends the “Black And White” premiere after party during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
Sticking with what works. Nothing wrong with that. Great color.
Rosamund Pike in Antonio Berardi
Rosamund Pike attends the premiere of “Hector and the Search for Happiness” during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
Oh, wait. No, we have to be not-nice about this one. She’s too pale for all that white, the silhouette’s doing nothing for her, and those shoes are twee.
GOD that felt good.
Okay, back to being nice.
Anna Kendrick in J. Mendel
Anna Kendrick attends the premiere of “Cake” during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
Cute dress. Some boldly colored shoes would have made us happy.
Anna Kendrick in Kaufmanfranco
Anna Kendrick attends the premiere of “The Last Five Years” during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
We didn’t know she could pull off this brand of sleek and sexy, but she’s doing it.
Eddie Redmayne in Burberry
Eddie Redmayne attends the premiere of “The Theory Of Everything” during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
FABULOUS color.
Aubrey Plaza in Marni
Aubrey Plaza attends the premiere of “Ned Rifle” during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
The dress and the face are so cute, but the hair’s not up to the task.
Vera Farmiga in Michael Kors
Vera Farmiga attends the premiere of “The Judge” during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
We dig her “religious-compound chic” aesthetic, which she returns to often. It really works for her brand of vaguely weird.
