Darlings, after the neon-colored screamfest known as the VMAs red carpet, we’re ready for a little class, style, and low-key chic. A “Women in Film” celebration should just about do the trick right now. A little style amuse-bouche, if you will.
Hit it, ladies.
Lea Michele in Narciso Rodriguez
Our bouches. They are not amused.
This is ridiculously random and looks like nothing so much as a stack of samples in a fabric store.
GORGEOUS. What a pretty little dress. And we love the elegance of the styling.
This would look so much better with a halter neckline, we think. Square-shouldered gals should not fear the halter.
Even so, this is really pretty and feminine. One of the most elegant things we’ve ever seen her in.
We’re not sure about the shoes, but the rest of it works really well. She can get away with a crop top on the RC and have it look somehow appropriate. Maybe it’s the demure quality of the skirt.
And speaking of demure… we really don’t love it when she goes this “gothy schoolmarm” route. It’s a look she clearly likes, but we never thought it did anything for her.
Darby Stanchfield in Pamella, Pamella Roland
Seizure-inducing.
Love the idea of the short hair, but it’s looking a little ragged. Love the dress too, but she lost us at the pointy shoulders.
Kerry Washington in Michael Kors
Pretty and simple. Nothing wrong with that.
It’s a shame about the hair. While this isn’t exactly head-turning, it’s classically chic and it suits her well.
LOVE. She looks adorable. We’d have wanted a rethink on the makeup and a pair of noticeable earrings, however.
Sarah Paulson in Monique Lhuillier
She’s slowly turning into the post “Baby Jane” version of Bette Davis.
