Oh, honey. We’ve all been there. You saw something unique and pretty walk a runway and you thought “I can make that work.”
Well, okay. Maybe we haven’t ALL been there, but we can relate, dear.
Anna Gunn attends screening of “Gracepoint” in Los Angeles, California in Marchesa.
Marchesa Spring 2015 Collection
But sweetie, this dress is clearly “For Models Only.” It just can’t handle the real world. It’s always going to look best on a size 0 professional dress-wearer stomping down a runway for 45 seconds. The skirt is very pretty, but the entire top half needs to go if any mortal woman wants to wear this. It looks odd and incongruous from the front and downright awkward from the back. Pack this dress up and sent it back to Marchesa, dear, where it can live amongst the models in the wild.
In other news, we look at the ads for Gracepoint and say every single time, “I Just. Don’t. Get it.” Seriously, if you’ve seen Broadchurch – and boy, should you ever see Broadchurch – then there is literally no reason to watch the exact same story play out without the English coastal accents. The fact that they cast David Tennant to play the same role except with an American accent strikes us extremely odd. It gives the impression that the American version simply can’t stand on its own. And the really weird thing is that Tennant’s going to go back to England to shoot season 2 of Broadchurch. And then, presumably, if Gracepoint does well, he comes back here to shoot season 2 of that, ping-ponging back and forth across the pond, playing the exact same character except with different accents depending on the setting. Weird.
