Honey, you held out as long as you could. Go home and take those (kinda ugly) shoes off. Also, and this is just a suggestion, but dresses that wildly distort your body shape with weird patterns and blocking? Not your friend at this time.

Love Zoe, love everything about her, wanna be her for Halloween. But honey, that dress looks like a pajama robe especially with the knotted belt or whatever it is. All you need is fuzzy slippers and a can of Tab with a straw sticking out.

      • myandyleigh

Maybe she had on the fuzzy slippers but then changed into the foot torture devices and it took so long to accomplish and proved so painful that she just said, “Screw it!”, ditched whatever uncomfortable dress she had picked out and left the house in her robe. I’d don’t think the addition of fuzzy slippers would have made this look any worse than it already does.

She looks miserable and tired. She managed to make the corners of her mouth go up but couldn’t manage a real smile. Poor thing. I’m having sympathy discomfort for her.

        • largishbearishAtlish

utterly agree that poor outfit SCREAMS sympathy discomfort…go home, put those fuzzy slippers BACK on, toss the shoes into the fireplace, have a nice soothing (non alchoholic) beverage…maybe have hubby rub your feat and relax…we still love you. hang in there.

        • adnama79

I’m 29 weeks pregnant and would not wear those shoes (which would require another person to put on my feet), even if paid to do so. Ugh and ouch. Although I am a little confused about why no one just gave her a empire waisted dress in a nice print and some shiny flats… If you must go be presentable while pregnant (I had to do work networking last week and managed with a Ross budget), there are better options.

          • altermyego

I’ve never been pregnant, but if I had the choices of shoes that celebrities have those would be the LAST pair I’d choose. Even if one is not pregnant, ooh it looks so very painful. They should only be worn from your front door to your car and from your car to the restaurant where your husband has kindly dropped you off at the door.

      • frannyprof

I’ll bet she’d LOVE a pair of fuzzy slippers right about now…

      • Introspective

        Tab! YAAAAASSSSSS!

    • sienna elm

I kinda like the shoes – but not with this. She’s a trooper though, I’m impressed.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

So that’s actually a part of the dress and not a weird scarf draped around her neck? Strange decision.

      • http://redheadedwolf.wordpress.com/ Laura Renee

It makes me wonder if it was meant to be a maternity dress, because it’s not as distorted on the model.

        • sojourneryouth

I don’t think it was. It doesn’t make sense to have a detail at exactly the place that will distort it most if it were a maternity dress. It’s 50% ugly, either way.

    • Yoshio

The blocking has a chrysalis quality that makes me think of a creature being nurtured so that totally works for pregnancy on a subliminal level. I guess that means I rather like it. Please get more comfy shoes though.

    • Judy_J

Those shoes with the metal spike for a heel look like the real heel fell off an all you’re left with is the spike that held it on in the first place.

    • Anna

*hands over the ice cream I was about to start eating to Zoe and backs away slowly, without making eye contact*

      • largishbearishAtlish

I bet she could spill ice cream on this…and no one would see it/notice…

        • Anna

True! The print sort of looks like Cherry Garcia already.

    • In_Stitches

There are some great wrap dresses that would look great on her right now; this one just isn’t one of them. It’s too slouchy, too sloppy, it ends up looking like a dressing gown. Definitely a FMO kind of dress (the kind of which she can normally pull off).

      • marlie

Too slouchy, too sloppy, and to much loud print.

    • papillon

Don’t listen to them when they tell you you have to wear heels, honey. You really don’t.

    • Alison

I actually kind of love the idea of a prego-star hitting the RC in what is essentially a designer bathrobe, in a “fuck all of you for making me get off the couch” sort of way. Remove the weird patches and put on some comfier shoes and I’d be all about this.

      • TinyDynamo

Agreed! The idea of this is pretty brilliant for a pregnant lady. The execution is just done wrong.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

Was there a secret bug theme for this event? Zoe looks like she has a weird butterfly on her stomach and Joanne has bugs on her skirt.

      • hughman

All the invites : “SECRET THEME – BUGS. DO YOU.”

    • @Biting Panda

No one is forcing you out here in your bathrobe and bordello/hardware store find shoes. You’re putting not one, but two, humans together, tell the RC rules to fuck off for a while.

      • largishbearishAtlish

You tell me panda!!! and as said, Zoe, we STILL love you…

    • Imasewsure

Ugly dress and oh so wrong for the wearer at this point… and fuzzy slippers for sure … those heels are ugly (and torturous)

    • capybara_cafe

Even when she’s totally tired and done with it all, she’s still gorgeous. Ugh! Some people!

    • marlie

I can’t believe that hideous dress is Givenchy. And she looks so over it all.

      • decormaven

Then’s there is some more Givenchy over at the Goodwill. She deserves so much better than this look. And those shoes..

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

The only proper piece of designer clothing I have is a 1960s Givenchy pullover that I inherited from my grandmother. So it actually causes me pain to see the label come to this!

    • NBG

Heck, I don’t care about the clothes or the shoes. She’s beautiful and she’s building people right now. She gets a pass. (Especially if John Hamm gets a damn pass for his wrinkled suit and 90s boots.)

    • Jacob Bowen

That dress looks like it has chrosomes on it…

    • Tina M.

Maybe she didn’t realize she would photograph in the “extremely pregnant” category rather than the “ambiguously pregnant” category when she picked this out, hence all the weird patterns and the flowy shapes.

It’s not really pretty, but fuck if it doesn’t look comfortable and double fuck if she doesn’t deserve plenty of comfort right now. Those shoes look like hell on Earth for swollen feet, though (plus they’re kinda fug).

      • demidaemon

I think, with expecting twins, “ambiguously pregnant” was doomed to be a short lived phase.

    • LoveThisSite

I dont hate that dress. And she is glowing!

    • MW

I’m confused, she was barely showing last week…

      • MilaXX

Partially because she’s carrying twins and partially because she’s stopped trying to hide it.

    • Judy_S

I like that dress on her body at this time. It looks comfy but interesting. She needs to have a serious conversation with herself about footwear, though.

    • Violentcello

I kind of like the pattern on the color-blocked part, especially when I thought it was orange and navy (nothing wrong with orange and black; just think navy would be cooler). I would have liked to see the whole dress made with that fabric.

I didn’t like it quite as much in the close up, but from a distance it’s pretty and interesting.

    • Wink

That is one comfy looking bathrobe.

    • boweryboy

I don’t get it. Why do women wear heels when they’re pregnant? Doesn’t it hurt your back? Doesn’t it throw off your center of gravity? Isn’t it uncomfortable, especially if your feet are swollen?

      • formerlyAnon

For most women: yes, yes, and hell yes!

But there are some women who ALWAYS wear heels and say they are more comfortable in them and retain this ability during pregnancy. (I find it hard to believe, but there’s empirical evidence . . .)

        • Anna

I have never seen a *real life* pregnant woman wearing heels until the other day, she was teteering all over the sidewalk like she was Victoria Beckham. I felt like I should be prepared to drop my bags at a moment’s notice to help her, just in case, as she was on her own and carrying grocery bags at the same time.

Generally though, I only ever seem to see celebrities wearing heels while pregnant and from the crazy, fucked-up Hollywood perspective, I *get* why they do it (vanity/they’re being photographed/that’s what the stylist gave them to wear blah blah blah).

          • FibonacciSequins

Oddly, I saw one the other day also. She looked 6 or 7 months along and was navigating remarkably well. It’s a rare sighting in real life.

            • Anna

It was impressive, but it looked very uncomfortable. Then again, I don’t do well with heels at the best of times. I used to be able to but now I can only wear them to dinner/events with plenty of seating, and always carry foldable flats in my (roomy) clutch during weddings and other such occasions.

        • MilaXX

I have a friend who is one of those women who ALWAYS wears heels. She wore heels until her 8th month with both her pregnancies. They are rare, but they do exist and out of the many folks I know she was the only one I knew to do this.

          • Kitten Mittons

Ditto for a co-worker I had. During the last month, she wore kitten heels, as a compromise I guess. Never saw how she could manage it.

    • deech_sea

She needs to sit down. From the pained expression on her face, I can guess where the baby’s head is pressing. Poor Zoe!

      • Bernd

I’ve never seen her look so uncomfortable. Almost as if she is holding back tears. I hope she sank onto a fainting couch seconds after these pix were taken.

    • shirab

Thank you, Zoe, for not doing that ubiquitous “hands on belly so you know I’m pregnant” pose.

    • http://fibonaccisequins.storenvy.com/ Danielle

I KNOW THAT FEEL. I’ve got Kardashian feet and I’ve still got at least 3 months to go.

    • frannyprof

Those are the absolute worst shoes she could be wearing right now. Fire whoever suggested them to you, Zoe.They are not your friend.

    • gingerella

She’s having twins and she is small-framed. She’s doing a miraculous job. I’ve been there, and trust me when I say that around mid-pregnancy you look full-term, and by about the 7th month there is nothing on earth that looks good on you.

      • largishbearishAtlish

twins??? get your dainty hiney OFF that RC and never ever ever again in this pregnancy those shoes…twins? oh how joyous… your contract should now read ‘mandatory foot rubbings’.

    • formerlyAnon

That dress looks too much like a robe – but at her stage of the proceedings she gets a pass. Especially since she put on THOSE SHOES. Which I think are o.k. and better than the dress but nothing great but she’s also displaying ZERO ANKLE SWELLING, in what looks to be her 4th or 5th trimester. My formerly-but-never-again pregnant self is in awe.

    • shopgirl716

You know, she’s pregnant. The fact that she is wearing those shoes shows her commitment to stardom. Trust, at that stage of my pregnancy I would NOT have agreed to those shoes. I get the impression she agreed to this event long before she realized how crappy she would feel at this stage of her pregnancy.

I picture a fight with the stylist, “Ok, I’ll wear the goddamn shoes but I WILL wear the Givenchy because it’s the most comfortable thing on the rack. I’m pregnant and bitchy and cannot be bothered with zippers. Let’s just get this shit over with. What the hell is Audi celebrates Emmy week anyway?”

    • Ginmaru

Poor baby. She needs to be wearing a Snuggie, holding a cup of something wonderful and having that big guy from Game of Thrones carrying her around. And a folded fan long enough to pop anybody in the head who gives her grief.

      • In_Stitches

HODOR! Every pregnant lady needs a Hodor.

    • evave2

I like the shoes. Oh well.

I like the dress. I remember pregnancy, and finding something I looked good in and made me feel good in was not an easy task.

So I am enjoying the pregnancy look there.

    • ashtangajunkie

I don’t mind what she’s wearing, but the look on her face is telling me that she does.

    • LeelaST

That “butterfly” image reminds me of the old “maternity bow” look.

    • Qitkat

      “wipes spit off computer screen”

    • crash1212

That dress is fug and gives off a bathrobe vibe. Hate the upholstered shoes. She doesn’t look happy and I wish somebody would just usher her back to her limo and let her go home and nap.

    • FibonacciSequins

I like both the dress and shoes, although not together (even on the model). Zoe looks tired, but at least her feet and ankles aren’t swelling up yet. I have an urge to give her a pat on the shoulder, a glass of water and a place to nap.

    • MilaXX

That’s not a pretty dress for a non pregnant person. It’s certainly doing Zoe no favors. Really dislike those tricky heels. She’s done okay up to now, but this outfit is a fail.

    • Lori

Those shoes are fugly and they must hurt like a son of a bitch. Concentrating the pressure like that stupid heel does is a recipe for misery. I have no idea why Zoe did that to herself, poor thing.

    • Synnae

I get why she chose the dress but changing its shape into a empire dress totally ruined the original intent of the print. The dress would have been better without period but on the model I kind of like the suggestion of a butterfly.

Also, why the hell do celebs put on loan shoes that are obviously not fitting right? If I were 4 months preggo with twins I’d bloody refuse!

    • Emily Wilson

This is the only time in your life you can get away with wearing flats on the red carpet; take advantage of it!

    • guest2visits

Er… I’m gonna disagree. This is an ok dress for looking like a beautiful pregnant actress. Not my most favorite but I think it’s interesting and just the right amount of quirky, shoes and all. And actually glad to see pregnant bellies not straining under rib tight fashions.

    • Tilda Donner

As usual she’s the Fashion PR Pawn for the most revolting dress in a collection.

    • Milos Mom

She looks so much better with the extra weight. I hope she does not return to an ultra skinny minnie after the pregnancy.

    • livesarah

From a distance I liked the shoes. Up close… Just…. No.

    • Columbinia

Nobody wants to see a pregnant woman in a pair of novelty stilettos. Well, okay, maybe there’s some obscure fetish for this out there somewhere. Still….

    • demidaemon

It’s a little housecoaty, no? I’m pretty sure 90% of the problems with this dress have to do with the weird pattern.

    • ktr33

I’m just going to put on some fancy shoes and go out in a bathrobe because I don’t give a shit anymore. If my water breaks, I’ll be well dressed for the hospital.

    • E. D.

The dress isn’t terrible, but damn find some more comfortable shoes.

    • crashtestbonnie

The Plurals should be universally exempted from the pole dance. Having been there, done that 3X and NEVER looking this good (even when I was Singular) I say go home, baby, put on some house shoes and yoga pants and kill a box of Triscuits and a block of cheese. TRUST. <3

    • KT

      Those shoes are offensively ugly.
