Posted on August 04, 2014

Hey Chris, how does it feel to be an instant movie star?

He looks pretty pumped about it. (SWIDT?)

    • nikol345

      wow that could nice

  • Paigealicious

    Dude is “swole.”

    • TropiCarla

LOL @ “swole.” Thank you for giving me flashbacks to the time in my life when I hung out with the Howard U wrestling team. They constantly referred to each other as “Big Swoll.”

      • OffToSeeHim

It meant something different back then.

  • sugarkane105

He’s so dreamy in his regular-guy clothes. That Anna Faris is one lucky lady.

If anyone hasn’t seen Guardians of the Galaxy, I highly recommend it! It was both hilarious and heartwarming 🙂

    • Rhonda Shore

i enjoyed the movie too and think it’s cute that he uses recyclable bags at Trader Joe!!!

      • No, he actually has the chutzpah to take a Trader Joe’s bag to Bristol Farms, although BF is more than a step above TJ’s. Either way, he has good taste in markets.

        • (Nah, it’s because there’s a plastic bag ban in Los Angeles. We all have to bring our own bags now.)

    • mshesterp

One of the few movies I want to watch again to check out what I missed. Absolutely charming.

      • largishbearishAtlish

and remember “Kevin Bacon is a god”

    • In_Stitches

It had an awesome cheesiness in the vein of, say, the Fifth Element, that really worked for me. I loved it. Oddly enough, I think it was the funniest movie of the summer.

    • OffToSeeHim

I was sold from the second I saw the first preview and one of the superheroes was a raccoon. Raccoon Superhero? I don’t care WHAT else is in the movie, I’m IN!

    • somebody blonde

I loved it, too. I’ve been listening to the soundtrack nonstop since I got home from it. I’m…. HOOKED ON A FEELING! Plus the dancing at the end was freaking adorable.

  • Karen Belgrad

After these photos, I’ve decided he can do his entire pole dance in jeans and tight tshirts.

    • StellaZafella

      I thigh…er, sigh…mhmhmhmhmh.

    • Nikko Viquiera

He can do his pole dance naked. In my bedroom. Anytime.

      • demidaemon

After these photos, I am definitely with you. I’m starting to think that perhaps he just isn’t meant for suits, and I am totally fine with that.

        • Nikko Viquiera

          Or clothes in general. mmm.

          • demidaemon

I could definitely live with that.

      • Sarah

Amen! I’d be happy if every Sausage Friday featured Chris, Hiddles and BeCum. I might even start a campaign.

        • Cupofoliveoil

ah yes. What a good trio. I’ve developed a love of JJ Fields too

  • Carrie

They shop just like the rest of us! (And nice bit of eye candy for a Monday morning)

    • Karen Belgrad

But if he were a lady star, we’d be reviewing the clothes/parking lot poses…. With him, it actually looks like shopping and not a paparazzi-invite event!

      • Carrie

True. I wish more lady stars could reject fashion house offers so they could be comfy and not always posing.

      • OffToSeeHim

I know I’m going to sound super naïve and stupid, but could he just BE shopping? Could that be the difference? I mean, nobody *really* believes Taylor Swift doesn’t have a home gym, and nobody believes Reese Witherspoon parks her car in the public lot, but he actually looks like the kind of guy that might go to Trader Joe’s on a Saturday, doesn’t he? He doesn’t have pretension dripping off him. Yet.

        • Karen Belgrad

I totally believe he is actually shopping, which means he actually IS shopping or he has a kick-ass PR handlers. Sadly, even if a lady star IS shopping, we automatically assume it’s a staged PR scene.

          • Barbara Affolter

I have seen Nicole Kidman shopping at Whole Foods. She was doing so in yoga pants and a ponytail, pushing her own teensy shopping cart. Sure, her clothes and purse were not cheap, but they were practical and fit the context. If she had been papped (unlikely in nashville) she would have come across as the female equivalent of this, not at all like Reese and her jaunty caps or Taylor with her empty purse and handlers.

          • J. Preposterice

yeah, I’ve seen occasional pap shots of lady stars actually doing their grocery shopping, and they are ALWAYS in, like, jeans and flipflops and a tee and a ponytail. You’d never notice them in the store unless you bumped into them in an aisle, and even then you might just think “huh, that lady looks a LOT like Natalie Portman, weird” or something

  • MilaXX

I can’t help it. He seems like such a nice guy I can’t help but smile when I see him.

    • FuhUgh

And, he brought his own bags to the store. Now I REALLY love him. That’s as “regular guy” as it gets.

      • dancho

We have to in LA. Or they charge you 10¢ each for crappy paper bags whose handles fall off when you pick them up.

        • I love seeing the people who either forgot their bags or the men who think it’s not manly to walk in with your own bags and don’t want to pay for the paper bags. They leave the market with arms full of groceries or a cart full of loose food, which makes them look like shoplifters.

  • misstressofsylar

Watched his movie over the weekend. It was the most fun I’ve had for a Marvel movie. I’m just happy we’re now living in the age of Chris Pratt. He deserves everything, gun show appreciation included!!

    • J. Preposterice

between the Three Marvel Chrises, it’s a good time for gun shows.

    Wow. Cold shower needed.

  • Pepper Collins

I always thought he was cute, but now he’s flat out handsome! Dayum!

  • Meg

    • Karen Belgrad

      • largishbearishAtlish

oh for a sudden cold …sigh

          • Juliette Wojciechowski

            TOTAL PACKAGE!

          • Nikko Viquiera

          • Esz

            That was amazing!

  • He’s pretty. I’ll take two.

  • sutton

Good for you Andy Dwyer! He just seems like a good dude.

  • How can he be so adorable and hot at the same time? He also did the voice of the main character in The Lego Movie, which my son has watched approximately eleventy billion times. I feel like we’re bestest buds now.

  • Kathy

    Well, hello sailor.

  • imspinningaround

    ROUGH TRADE. Gimme.

  • Wink

He makes a gray Henley look so damn good. Thank you, sir.

  • Chickadeep

His body is slammin’ these days, and I love his personality and attitude, but is it wrong for me to wish he’d clean up that scraggly neck beard action? He has the patchy facial hair that looks messy, not hot.

    • homofascist

He is GROCERY SHOPPING! And he has been pole dancing for his life. I think he gets a pass on the facial hair on this one (mind you I like a little neck beard, but I am well aware I am very much in the minority on that particular opinion).

      • Chickadeep

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I *adore* the fact that he actually seems to be grocery shopping and agree that he’s been doing a stellar poledance of late. I just never have been (and never will be) a fan of the scraggly neckbeard, is all.

    • Mr. J.

      Yes. It IS wrong.

  • lynnlee

I liked him better when he was smushy.

  • TM

I know this sounds naive to say this about a celebrity, but he genuinely seems like a cool guys and he was a rocking Star-Lord. I’m happy for him.

My mom turned to me with her jaw drop during his shirtless bit. Definitely a star. Good for you, Chris.

  • World of Sass

  • LipstickForPigs

The look of bemused resignation on that man = lifetime crush (sorry Luke Evans…you’ve been replaced)

  • In_Stitches

Those are some TIGHT clothes. Not that I’m complaining, of course. Something tells me this was styled and maybe even called-in.

    • Leah Elzinga

stylist or no, a lot of the dudes I know that grew up wearing boots and Wranglers tend to dress like this, with a straighter leg jean in a slimmer cut, and it’s all about tight across the chest… Seriously, this is a small town uniform in a lot of places, I’m sure.

      • jilly_d

As a person who has lived in multiple small towns in the midwest, Yes.

  • Bexxx

He is delicious. I would take him in his Star Lord or his Andy Dwyer form. I hope the other BKs have been paying attention to his press tour interviews because he is seriously hilarious.

  • Janet B

    So adorable.
He’s cute and he uses an assortment of reusable bags.

    • Heather

      Trader Joe’s!

  • HeyMrPhipps

I think fair share of the movie’s huge success at the box office could be attributed to the charm and humility he’s shown throughout the pole dance. That, and pretty much every other popcorn movie this summer has been complete drekkitude.

    • In_Stitches

I’d advise Captain America 2 if you missed it. It was very well done.

    • mshesterp

Actually, I agree with In_Stitches–I thought Captain America 2 and X-Men were pretty great. It’s been a surprisingly awesome comic book summer, for once!

    • JauntyJohn

Couldn’t agree more on the point about his charm and humility, but I differ on the “other” movies. Cap 2 I thought was a very good exploration/extension of Cap’s story. Haven’t seen the X’s yet.

      • Leah Elzinga

yup, just saw it in the cheap theatres and I was pleasantly surprised. I think they could have done a lot more to promote it, especially by referencing how much screen time Black Widow gets as well.

      • somebody blonde

I liked Cap 2, but Guardians blew it out of the water as far as I’m concerned. It was just so much funnier and more stylish than the average superhero movie.

    • Gloriana Reginata

As well as the Cap and Xmen, I would also add in the Tom Cruise ‘Groundhog Day meets Alien’ thing, which is the best SF pic he has done in a long while, aided by a great performance from Emily Blunt. So there’s something for this summer. Just not a lot.

      • WendyD

“Edge of Tomorrow” – terribly generic name for a really great movie that is a real rarity these days: it wasn’t a sequel or tied to anything else!

      • lamh

Edge of Tomorrow was really good. Too bad it didn’t do better than it did. It def deserved better.

        Emily Blunt was awesome.

  • StelledelMare

He seems like such a great person, I love it.

And everyone needs to see Guardians of the Galaxy because it’s amazing and funny and heart warming.

  • Kitten Mittons

Aaaaand, I think I’m gonna park it right here for the rest of the day.

Y’all know where you can find me.

  • Anna

The Naked Chef: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Dessert, starring Chris Pratt.

  • Andsheewas

Is it bad that my first thought was “I have that same Comcast bag”?

    • I had the EXACT same thought about the TJ’s bag! I might have squealed a bit when I saw it.

  • siriuslover

I love everything about this set of pictures. Everything is awesome! 😉

  • LibKat

Lesson of the weekend. If you are a really built boy named Chris, you should try to get a job with Marvel and you will be set for life.

    • Shawn EH

Only if you’re willing to get really built, as that was up in the air for awhile there.

  • majorbedhead

I took my 9 year old to see this this weekend. I really enjoyed it, and not just for the eye candy.

  • webslice33

i hate anna faris! chris gets to be naked with her all the time!

    • Shawn EH

Somebody is feeling pretty happy with her proposal acceptance at this point methinks.

  • Dan_In_NYC

First of all, YUM. Second, as TLO pointed out during the whole poledance, his clothes weren’t fitting properly. I honestly couldn’t tell if it was just him putting the weight back on or what. He’s clearly still looking FOINE, so whomever is dressing him is not getting this right. AT ALL.

Even if it’s hard to fit him in a blazer (figure it out), I should have at least been privy to THOSE THIGHS. I may need to sit down.

  • Dandesun

He looks happy to be able to buy food again. His comments about that have been pretty funny. Same with Anna Faris, I loved her thing about ‘how do you feel about this new body of his?’ “Oh… he’s very sexy but he’s so hungry!” They’re adorable and he’s great at Peter Quill. GotG is a really fun ride that will tug at the heartstrings, too. Excellent movie.

    • somebody blonde

I totally agree. I really want them to make “The Rocket and Groot Show” where they show where those two came from, how they became partners, and what they were doing before they met up with Quill.

  • Jeremy Thomas Porta

    Unnnf…oh man. This guy.

  • KT

He’s so cute. Thanks for the thumbs up!

  • cocohall

I still cannot believe the transformation from shlubby sidekick to leading man. He looks like his is getting his master’s degree from The Hugh Jackman School of Celebrity. Which is a compliment. Equal parts cute, hot, friendly, funny, and charming. I can’t speak to his talent – I haven’t seen much of his work. But he sounds like he has the total package.

  • KendraMR

    He’s so adorable!

  • anotherkate

Oh my god. He has always been cute and handsome and charming as all hell, but his recently acquired HOTNESS is giving me palpitations.

  • Joanna B

    He fine. That is all.

  • jilly_d

    Tingly in the lady bits…

  • Denise Rambo

The way he’s carrying those bags is kind of the equivalent of a guy pushing a stroller with one hand while practically walking alongside the damn thing … “Groceries? What groceries? These aren’t really MY groceries.”

  • Lisalady161

Saw the movie yesterday and my main complaint was that it was too fast paced and too short. And yes, he looks good in normal/minimal/no clothing.

  • I want to jump on his back and ride him.

    • Wink

      There’s a line… wrapped around the corner.

  • kittenwithaquip

I like him better in this kind of torn-jeans-tight-t-shirt look than any of those expensive designer suits. He looks in his element here. *swoon*

  • Kirstin McAulay

If he looks like THIS how come none of his suits have fit him right???? Please, please handlers… measure him properly and get him a better outfit!!

  • Roger A. Sneed

    Hi, yes, and PLEASE!

  • smayper

You know that little sound that Geena Davis makes in Thelma and Louise when she wants Susan Sarandon to slow down and pick up Brad Pitt? That’s the sound I’m making. Slightly ashamed to admit it, but there it is.

  • fromanotherplanet

Redneck realness. Girl bye! I’m so over Hollywood trying to make these bland white men happen. I’m over it.

  • gitchygitchymama

Atta boy – recyclable bags – used and beat up like you actually use them…….. Get THAT message out. Set that trend.

  • Jacob Bowen

    Yes PLEASE….mmmmmm butch star realness!

  • Lily

This is how I like all my truck stop Lotharios (TM) to look.

  • kim bunchalastnames

i love the actual third leg in the last photo. lol.

  • Look how awesome he is in the fourth shot, giving a smile and a thumbs up. God I love him. bless Anna Farris, I adore her, and am thrilled he’s her hubby because that man is yummy.

  • demidaemon

  • largishbearishAtlish

Daaaaammmnnnn…. now I am craving beef for some reason…woof!

  • He’s a sweetheart!

  • Jacqueline Wessel

That is some mighty fine man there.

  • Mr. J.

We don’t have a Bristol Farms in Savannah, Chris…but we do have a Whole Foods. Please? Pretty please?

  • t bell

Mercy, I’ve got the vapors; where’s the Scotch bottle?

  • somebody blonde

He looks adorable, plus the movie is great! I honestly thought it was worth it for the soundtrack alone, but it was everything I love in a superhero movie and nothing I hate. It was definitely smarter and funnier than most of the rest of the Marvel adaptations.

  • Shannon Long

    hummina hummina hummina

  • Pterodactyl111

    Good God, he is gorgeous.

  • NinjaCate

He just go so hot over the course of like a year and a half. I love it. He dropped the weight, bulked up and suddenly he’s a leading man. Same with Jonah Hill. (Well, he’s not so much leading as taking more serious roles) Why doesn’t it ever seem work like that for the ladies?

  • NBG

Loved him chubby and I love him this way. There doesn’t seem to be a bad version of Chris Pratt. He’s adorable.

The only way I could like these pics more was if he were dancing across the parking lot!

  • Imasewsure

I love that his parking lot tour involves Trader Joe’s and also that his clever deployment of “designer swag” is the TJ bag itself. Could start a trend… also the guns… 🙂

    • NBG

Not to mention the Chevy hat, which is coincidentally the automaker that has a placement deal with Marvel Studios.

  • A Trader Joe’s reusable bag at a Bristol Farms? Stars are just like me.

  • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

    He’s yummy.

  • Danielle West
