    • Mary Carpenter

If my IT guy looked like that, I’d be having all sorts of problems with my computer.

      • Jessica O’Connell

I was about to say essentially the same thing. I WISH anyone in my IT department even looked a little like him :-D

        • Leah Elzinga

I’m gonna need a “Chuck” fix, stat!

        • e jerry powell

It’s like Henry down in Accounting…

      • kat89

I would switch back to a PC for some of that!

      • Danielle

I think I would have launched mine off the top of the building a few times. “Why yes, I did try turning you-I mean it on and off.”

      • Mink Carlyle

This new IT guy arrives and suddenly the company’s computers all start acting REALLY strangely.

    • NBG

If he were my IT guy, there would always be something wrong with my desktop. Every damn day.

    • Jennifer Bober

Okay, you guys are really helping me get through this Monday. I don’t care if he looks like an IT guy…he’s a CUTE IT guys, so it’s okay.

      • marlie

Mine was my work neighbor (at my last job). Instant IT help and lunch buddy. I miss him. :)

        • Ginmaru

Mine is in Personnel. Work buddy, IT help and evil companion. We are planning our Halloween costumes already for this year. Mwahahahaha! He’s the best part of being at work some days.

      • kimmeister

Me too! One time I emailed him to ask about cookies, and he joked that he thought I was talking about the edible kind. The next time I popped by to see him, I had a big bag of chocolate chip cookies for him. That became our little thing.

    • http://attiresmind.blogspot.com/ Kiltdntiltd

Nothing notable here, beyond his being rather adorable looking, but that has nothing to do with his outfit.

      • Lisalady161

Outfit? Oh yeah, he is in clothes, isn’t he? Cannot get past that sweet grin.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

Yes, I think Matt is resting on his adorableness here, and I can handle that today. ‘Course, I’ll never turn my nose up at a nattily attired Matt, either. Once again, I think his husband is a lucky, lucky man.

    • Kim Elmore

I was gonna say something snarky about those shoes, but your damn summary requires nothing else!!!

      • kimmeister

I was going to say they were Bill Gates’s shoes.

    • PinkyK

      Sigh….he’s so yummy!

    • MoHub

It’s making me crazy that the hem of his right pants leg is inside his shoe.

      • boweryboy

I have an irresistible urge to fix people’s pants whenever I see this. It drives me nuts. For me, that’s an indication that the shoes are not a good pairing with the pants.

        • MoHub

It might even bother me less if both pants-leg hems were tucked into his shoes. At least, then, I might have thought it was some kind of lame fashion statement.

    • WendyD

He’s endlessly cute, but can the trend with knit ties please end?

      • charlotte

The tie reminds me of those Scoubidou bracelets I used to make with smelly plastic strings.

      • Emily Smith

Knit ties remind me of my orthodontist, it’s all he ever wore in hideous green/brown colors.

      • MK03

omgyes. I loathe knit ties. Although this one looks like it was made with those stretchy loops that kids make potholders out of at camp.

      • Kent Roby

Men have so few acceptable fashion options as it is; I see no reason to banish knit ties, though few guys look as great with them as this genetically-superior specimen does.

    • Grumpy Girl

But why did he not shave?

      • Kent Roby

Perhaps because he looks amazing with stubble (or for role, etc).

        • Grumpy Girl

True–he looks amazing no matter what. But this stubble just ruins the fantasy IT guy look for me. I tried hard to envision he’s been too busy keeping the network running, but . . .no.

    • Mark Anast

      UGH! THOSE SHOES!!

    • AndiMarie

I work in IT and I WISH my coworkers looked like that.
Scratch that, I need to be able to get stuff done at the office. Other than staring at my coworkers.

      • boweryboy

        Same here. I hear yah.

        • Carleenml

since you’re my gay bestie we should watch Normal Heart together. You can stare at him and I can stare at Ruffalo (my latest crush of crushes).

    • gabbilevy

He can fiddle with my cables whenever he likes.

    • Anna

LOL-I actually do have a crush on someone from IT at my work, but he doesn’t look anything like Matt here. If he did, I’d constantly have to keep inventing new problems for him to troubleshoot.

Oh yeah, Matt’s sneakers are kinda dorky, but endearing and I AM DIGGING the grey in the beard.

    • Kbear

He could wear a bag and still look delicious.

    • MartyBellerMask

So much pretty this morning, I almost can’t stand it.

    • Glam Dixie

Kind of silly shoes and I hate knit ties, but he has THAT FACE, so all is forgiven. I could get into Sausage Monday.

    • Mary Elizabeth Poytinger Baume

oops, did i spill water on my keyboard? my bad! can you bend over and make sure its all ok? okay!

    • boweryboy

I was totally on board with the crappy knit tie, the sloppily rolled up sleeves, and the wrinkled ill fitting pants until I got to the shoes. What the hell? He should have worn a pair of plain black dress shoes. Or if he wanted to keep it casual a pair of black or blue sneaks.

This is a case of resting on pretty and in this case pretty is not enough.

    • Sophie

Um…no? I can’t with the bracelet and the knit tie. I usually like him (or at least his face), but this really isn’t working.

      • Shawn EH

I was thinking this was like the first good knit tie ever.

        • alyce1213

I like it – extreme knit.

    • marlie

Not his usual polished to perfection look, but he still looks adorkable. And this is still leagues better than the “casual” looks that other guys wear on the red carpet.

    • MilaXX

He looks like the cute dad in the neighborhood. The one who could play ball with you and actually keep up without getting winded.

      • Wink

Yep. He’s the ‘hot dad’ at the PTA meeting!

        • demidaemon

What I most like about this look is that he actually seems attainable for once (even though i do love it when he pulls out the “I’m so beautiful” looks too).

        • ShaoLinKitten

Attendance in the PTA would go through the roof if someone even close to this cute started showing up.

    • jonnyf8

Can we get a close-up on the Stan Smith’s?

    • Janet B

This might be the least bit of effort he’s ever put into an outfit.

    • Mothra

He has the wrong sneakers to be an IT guy. He needs a pair of running shoes that have lost all structural integrity.

    • Shawn EH

If only that were my IT guy! If only I WASN’T the IT guy!

    • Kara Keenan

I have a sak beach bag that matches that tie!

    • Qitkat

Why, good morning, Mr. Bomer. I do believe this week will be an improvement upon last week.
Here, let me help you with all the little adjustments your outfit needs. While you continue to gaze upon me :)
If my real IT department guy shows up, I’ll just be over here in my Happy Place.

    • decormaven

Very casual look; not familiar with this event, but I trust he is suitably attired.

    • Matthew Davie

Everything was fine until I got to the shoes. Then the needle scratched right off the record.

    • Tracy_Flick

I’m pretty sure that’s the EXACT outfit Mr. Seitz used to wear to teach 8th grade math. And now I have all kinds of VERY conflicted feelings.

    • msdamselfly

      Cute

    • Ginmaru

      “Did you restart your computer?”

Such a cutie. Why such boring slacks?

    • FrigidDiva

I got more of a high school biology teacher vibe than IT, then again all the IT guys at my workplace totally fit the normal stereotype–the last one we had was also a fencing intstructor and would choreograph the Ren Faire day at our yearly Shakespeare in the Park.

    • Audrey Lee

Mr. Bomer, everything is acceptable except your dirty damn shoes. It adds a little to the charm but it makes me want to cleaaaaannn themmm.

    • evave2

That is truly a bizarre tie. The shirt and the pants and the shoes look IT guy (isn’t it AMAZING everybody is saying IT guy when I never ever meet an IT guy who looked like that?) but the tie looks like guy hanging AROUND in Best Buy hoping to pick up people by PRETENDING to be IT guy and just spouting nonsense.

    • higgledypiggledy

I think The Cuteness has hypnotized me: I am charmed by this look. Yes, even the sneakers. It looks comfortable and casual without remotely veering into stopping-by-the-event-on-my-way-to-CVS territory. But I can’t help noticing his salt-and-pepper stubble doesn’t match what’s on top of his head. I realize this is possible in nature, but it also suggests he’s hitting the dye bottle, which smacks of anxiety about aging. Not that I blame him, given his line of work and personal brand/look. But one is meant to hide one’s tracks a little more carefully, I think. Am I wrong?

      • Qitkat

I think in many cases the salt-and-pepper stubble occurs naturally before the head hair goes gray. I’ve noticed the same thing in two of my 40ish sons.

        • dmkava

It’s totally true, it starts in the stubble first. I speak from firsthand experience

        • higgledypiggledy

I stand corrected! And I am happy to learn it.

        • bitchybitchybitchy

True. That’s one of the reasons that Mr. B3 never grew a beard-the one time he tried he noticed that he had at least three different colors, including a smidge of gray, if I remember correctly.

    • imperfectlaura

I work in IT….so please *insert deity here* give me a coworker like that.

      • Courtney

I wish our IT guys looked like that.

    • dmkava

If there was a party I didn’t really want to go to, but still wanted to look kind of cute, this is how I would go.

    • Sofia

Looks like something Mr. Rodgers would wear if he was alive today. He has ZERO sex appeal and looks very boring.

    • alyce1213

For me, the perfection that is Matt Bomer overcomes any small fashion missteps. At worst (even with a bad hair day), he still looks charming.

    • Mink Carlyle

Shame on you for taking inspiration from The Daily Mail, TLO. But you were much funnier than them, so you’re forgiven.

    • gingerella

Every time I see him, I feel like sending him a card saying, “Congratulations on your face.”

    • formerlyAnon

My IT guy would mysteriously find his desk moved to my section if he looked that good. (Actually we had one who looked that good. Much quiet speculation as to whether or not we’d get “the cute one” when it was time for some desk-by-desk maintenance.)

I guess I’m getting officially old – I find myself wondering if his hair is getting some grey to match the beard and speculating as to whether that might be a good look on him.

    • Huntsvillager

Am I the only one who thinks they entire outfit is precious – INCLUDING the shoes?!

    • ashtangajunkie

At the risk of going full-on fangurl…omgheissoperfectIdon’tevencare.

    • BLauDGaspode

I’m not a fan of knit ties, and I think if he lost it, he’d look entirely perfect for a summer event. My husband is in the tech business at a really large, global company. I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen any of the workers looking this adorable at work, though I could easily see my husband in such an outfit. In fact, most tech people I know all dress really casually. Think Roy, not Moss.

    • Aurumgirl

      Scarpe per bambini.

    • GeoDiva

He is one of the few people, that I don’t care what he is wearing, just as long as he shows up!

    • Imasewsure

I immediately thought “IT Dept” too so I am feeling my dear uncles, if not my beloved Uncle Matt here…

    • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

Hahahah, I LAUGH at your grey whiskers, mortal! (No, not really, I jealously weep and binge eat all the ice cream at the mere sight of you.)

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

Oh, GAG. Yes, he’s cute, but those sneakers are an abomination, and someone needs to point out that facial hair is the first thing to turn gray on men. 3 days of stubble is extra unattractive when it’s a noticeably different color than your head hair.

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

If my IT guy looked like Matt, someone would have already offered to pay him more than my not-for-profit could afford just to come and beautify their offices by standing around, drinking coffee.

    • KT

      No boner for Bomer :(

    • bitchybitchybitchy

I could go for a Bomer Moment Monday here at TLo international.

    • YoungSally

have you tried turning it on and off again?

    • Man Dala

      Whatta man.

    • Kirstin McAulay

      Blue screen of yummy

    • Bill Craven

      Stan Smiths?

    • prisma

Wow. That’s cute. Adorable. The Geek Squad WISHES.

    • Alloy Jane

He needs to lose everything but the tie. And the tie only stays because it looks like dog leash material. You see where I’m going with this?

    • AnotherJulie

He is so good looking that he can wear anything he wants.

    • Karen

he looks so adorably geeky, LOVE IT!

    • JynxTheCat

      that face.
