Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini in The Hamptons

Posted on July 14, 2014

Watch a diva work a dress, darlings. Watch and LEARN:

Jennifer-Lopez-Leah-Remini-The-Hamptons-GOTS-Tom-Lorenzo-Site-TLO (1)Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini seen out shopping in The Hamptons, New York. Jennifer Lopez is wearing a Camilla EXCLUSIVE Savanna Asymmetric Maxi Dress paired with Gucci wedge sandals and an Hermès bracelet.

Miss Thing saw those photographers, immediately pinched that skirt (in a subtle and delicate manner), and started flapping her fashion wings like Diana Ross in Mahogany. The world is J Lo’s runway, bitches. All others best step OFF.

Having done her work to pay for the free dress, she goes back to pretending the paps don’t exist. Love the look. Not crazy about the hem, but it’s a pretty fabulous sundress; one that she clearly knows how to work to its best advantage when the situation calls for it. Attadiva.

As for Leah, the skirt and bag are cute.  The top isn’t really working for us. And from the neck up, she comes off like a cheap knockoff. Don’t wear the big-ass shades and the hoops if you’re spending the day with J Lo, girl. Find your own look.

      Jersey Shore…

    • Alexis Wenceslao

What?! It’s not an Anya Ayoung Chee one dimensional dress?!

      • Jane Duff

Camilla Franks has been doing these fab print maxi dresses and kaftans a bloody lot longer than Anya knockoff Chee!! (proud Aussie here)

        • Constant Reader

Don’t get me started on Anya. My bitchy side takes right over. That was the season that killed PR for me and I haven’t watched since.

          • Jane Duff

..and sadly it hasn’t got much better since (but still hate watch it)

            • bitchybitchybitchy

I swore that I wouldn’t watch after Anya won-I lied. I still watch, but it’s become a habit I just don’t care enough to break.

      • NinjaCate

        Rude. But hilarious. Kudos lol.

    • kbshee

While it might be cute on its own, Leah’s outfit looks so dowdy next to J Lo, almost like her sad younger sister.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

It’s as if they both went to a higher-end outlet mall and JLo found the one good buy in the whole place, and left Leah with slim pickings.

      • MK03

        Dainty June and Louise.

    • Denise Rambo

These two seem like a strange pair of BFFs to me.

      • Introspective

how? i see it all making sense. loud pushy outer boro new york girls always bond heavy. trust me on this.

        • lovelyivy

Well said. As a pushy Bronx chick, I can say that fabulous broads from BK, Queens, Staten Island often just get me. In hilarious and unpredictable ways. It gets loud.

      • Kent Roby

Don’t be fooled by the rocks that she got.

    • Danielle

      God, I want that sundress.

    • kimmeister

      Nor the topknot, Leah.

I can’t say I like JLo’s dress. It looks like a big moth, with owl ears an top. Cute espadrilles though.

    • Sam Smith

She must have her own personal wind machine person.

      • Introspective

need one of those stat. i feel like wind makes everything look better. ask mariah and beyonce about this as well as our dearest jenny.

    • mlurve

I feel like the bottom of the dress looks like it got ruined in the wash

    • boweryboy

In the first photo they both look like they reached the moment when the sour part of sour candy kicks in. This lowkey JLo is the JLo I like the best. My eyes did not roll once while scrolling through the pictures. The dress looks fab when she’s working it, but drab when she’s not. Also, Leah needs to go home, step up her game, and try again – especially if she’s hanging with JLo.

      • kimmeister

BWAHAHAHA you’ve totally nailed their facial expression!

    • hughman

Leah : “C’mon, I’m tired of being Tai. Let me be Cher now.”

      • AthenaJ

Poor Leah is Rhoda to JLo’s Mary in this one.

        • bitchybitchybitchy

“I’m the Mary!!!!!! You’re the Rhoda!!!!!” Shrieked in highest decibels in my best Romy and Michele voice

          • http://angrynerdgirl.net/ Jessi03

That fight always baffled me, b/c Rhoda is by far more fabulous. She had beaded curtains! And sass!! And scarves!!! “Men love scarves.”

            • bitchybitchybitchy

That fight is, to me, such a good example of how even great friends can be bogged down in petty silliness.

    • Jessica Freeman

I love JLo’s dress, but the hem looks a little tricky. No to everything Leah has on.

    • Sobaika

I want to be J.Lo. There, I said it. Feels good.

      • alyce1213

        Hola Chica!

    • DuBey2

Attadiva indeed. Now I’m going to find a maxi and practice the “pinching (in a subtle and delicate manner) and flapping her fashion wings ”

JK, I NEVER do maxi’s due to shortness factor & old enough to know what does NOT work on my silhouette)

    • Vegas Girl

I really want to like it, because at least it is not skin tight, but I just don’t. That dress is doing no favors to any part of her body, but making her girls look droopy makes me especially sad.

      • FibonacciSequins

The only thing I like here is Leah’s skirt.

        • Vegas Girl

          agreed!

      • Lower L

This is Exhibit A for why I dislike maxi dresses. And I think the print is fugly, too. I want Leah to keep the top but swap the skirt for a pair of cigarette pants.

        • Kent Roby

I’m in one of those weird moods where I had to read your comment a couple of times before I realized it didn’t say “swap the dress for a pack of cigarettes”!

    • Janet B

      Poor Leah.

    • alyce1213

Don’t like Jennifer’s at all. Now, I like Leah’s top, but I think the skirt’s frumpy, too full, maybe too long.
Matching top knots for summer shopping is kind of cute.

    • jonnyf8

      This friendship baffles me.

      • alyce1213

Bronx girl + Brooklyn girl, much in common. Look at the body language, they’re alike and in sync, the way they walk, etc. What baffles me, though, is Leah’s Scientology factor and how their friendship worked during that.

        • fitzg

I think JLo’s dad may be a Scientologist or is Scientology-adjacent.

          • alyce1213

Ohhhh. That I did not know.

          • bitchybitchybitchy

I believe you’re right; I remember reading that JLo commented about her father being either a member or sympatico with Scientology.

        • kryten8

Leah left scientology pretty publicly about a year ago or so.

          • alyce1213

            I know that. Who doesn’t?

        • Shawn EH

I think they’re both off the Kool-Aid now.

    • Rhonda Shore

      Is Leah her sister?

      • FibonacciSequins

No, but I can see why you’re wondering.

    • Glam Dixie

Somehow I like Leah Remini less today than I did yesterday. That dress is not flattering, I don’t care if you are diva JLo or not.

    • MoHub

It’s the matching topknot that makes it a fail for Leah in my eyes.

    • smh4748

With the right gust of wind, I think that JLo could actually soar like a butterfly in that thing.

      • Kent Roby

Which means that Mariah is moments away from suing, ‘cuz I’m pretty sure that she owns the rights to anything related to “butterfly”.

    • decormaven

Work that dress! I’m not a fan of its hemline, but damn if she isn’t selling it. The hemline on Lea’s skirt is too long; with her hands in the pockets, it’s pulling down and is not flattering. Being buddies with JLo must be thirsty work; hope they’re headed for a cocktail next.

    • Qitkat

      Ahhh, strolling in the Hamptons, matching: sunglasses✓ topknot✓ big-ass hoop earrings✓ espadrilles✓ big-ass cuffs/watches✓ big-ass bags✓ ignoring the paps✓ hemline failure✓ Priceless!

    • Sarah

The hem on JLo’s dress is not only weird but the long bits are dragging all over the ground, which: yick. I think matching topknots, sunglasses, earrings, AND shoes are a bridge too far.

    • suzq

Give Leah a break. She’s carrying all of JLo’s crap in that bag. And a flask, in case the crush at the bar is just too much.

    • Anna

      JLo just seems unpleasant.

    • FibonacciSequins

I’m liking that Leah got papped with a UPS truck behind her.

      • alyce1213

Funny! I had to go back and look.

    • Imasewsure

I like Leah’s look (but then again I’m frumpy). JLo’s is comfy chic and I like it except for that hem (which I hate hate hate always). Nice use of the wind machine!!

    • MilaXX

JLo looks like what most of us think we look like in a maxi. Poor Leah is gorgeous, in her own right but her outfit cannot compete with JLo’s diva-ness.

    • mayanempire

Stacey Carosi deserves a better outfit.

    • crash1212

I love both of these looks. That maxi is fabulous.

    • cocohall

The print on JLo’s dress makes me want to reach for an industrial size can of bug spray and a enormous fly swatter. Especially in the first photo where it looks like the creature’s wings are spread. Leah looks cute except for the heaviness of the shoes and the crazy big bag. (This from a woman who’s bag rivals Mary Poppins’.) I just saw Leah on The View and found her refreshingly free of pretense. She was funny and vulnerable and I can imagine a nice breath of fresh air for JLo.

      • Lower L

Now you’ve got me thinking of the movie Mimic…

    • Beto

Leah, please, your posture. Rise up!

    • Thomas

From Scientology to JLo: The Leah Remini Story

      • Shawn EH

        The inspiring ascension!

    • SierraDelta

That hem is dragging all over the ground! As someone who does her own clothing maintenance (I know — no minions in this household), I can only see repeated applications of industrial strength Stain Stick in Mama Lopez’s laundress’s future.

    • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

HOLA LOVERS! Your air kisses are the WIND beneath my WINGS! Each and every one of you! Say GOODBYE to Barbara Hershey here for stepping between myself and mi documentalista niño.

    • marlie

JLo’s dress is ugly, but I appreciate her not being “on” like she usually is.I do like her shoes, though. I have a skirt similar to Leah’s, and I almost wore it today But I would NOT have worn a shirt like that.

    • msdamselfly

I think they look really cute together. I love that they are matching their hairdos, earrings and glasses, like sisters

    • https://www.facebook.com/pages/Words-in-Design/158664667624412 Tejana

Maybe they styled themselves like Twinkies to see if anyone noticed?

    • Joe Schmartin

…and then there’s the perfectly nippletacular placement of the print on Leah’s top.

    • demidaemon

HATE Leah’s look, full stop. Bad. JLo finally refound some of her mojo.

    • AnnaleighBelle

Leah’s shadowed nipples are stealing the focus for me, especially in the first picture.

    • lamamu

I LOVE the idea of these two in the Hamptons. Is that island big enough for these two AND Goop? Ha!

    • Lanus

As a mother, an entertainer, and a woman, I need to admit that I would wear most of Leah’s outfit. But, then, I’m a middle-aged housewife who’s “let herself go” and my big changes would be to wear smaller earrings and a pair of Chuck Taylors instead of the wedges. So, you know, my fashion advice is probably not celeb-ready.

    • teensmom99

I want the version of Lea’s outfit that covers my abs–or I want the abs (and the youth) to get away with this. And not always a JLo fan but you gotta love the fabulosity.

    • Richard

That woman in the background looking at the camera in that second to last pic is cracking me up.

    • http://www.basicallyimcomplicated.com Gabby

On Leah, that skirt hits her at a terrible point in her leg, her legs look fat and stumpy, which they aren’t. It’s probably better in motion, but awful in pictures

    • greyhoundgirl

Topknot?–check. Big sunglasses with brown lenses?–check. Hoop earrings?–check. Cuff bracelet?–check. Wedge espadrilles?–check. All set to accessorize like a true diva but not really make it?–check.

    • ShaoLinKitten

Is Jenny from the Block rocking that maxi dress without a bra? BRAvo (pun intended). If I tried to do that, my pix would not look like a butterfly taking flight, I promise you that.

    • MM4321

“. . . like Diana Ross in Mahogany.” LOVE IT. I need to go watch that movie . . . classic.

      • Wink

        Love the Mahogany reference, too!

        • Shawn EH

I never realized before how clearly that is one of J.Lo’s touchstones: Diana Ross fabulous! I like Leah, so she’s clearly BFF-ing to her hearts content right here!

    • gitchygitchymama

      are they dating?

    • http://www.bertkeeter.com Bert Keeter

Those Hoops…almost NBA regulation size…. Tackey!
