Chris Pratt at “Guardians of the Galaxy” Photocall

Posted on July 29, 2014

This poor guy. Not one thing has fit him correctly on this poledance.

And it’s not like he has a tough body type to fit. But his body weight seems to slowly be tipping back to his baseline not-working-out-5-hours-a-day level and we suspect his wardrobe for this tour was put together at least one size ago. Every jacket has been pulling like this. And we’ll cop to this being a personal preference thing, but we dislike the plunging v-neck t-shirt paired with a jacket. It’s crew neck or nothing, as far as we’re concerned.

You can tell he thought, “Thank god it’s a photocall. I can skip shaving and wear less makeup.”

I DEMAND better fitting for my Andy Dwyer.
(I still think he’s trying harder than a majority of male stars–even those who are potentially on the verge of movie stardom.)

  • Scimommy

I hate that he tries to smolder in all these poledance pics. Chris, it’s not you! Stop this charade and we will still love you!

    • hyperionic

Is that what he’s doing? I thought he was just squinting from the sun.

      • Scimommy

He’s had the same expression throughout the poledance, indoors and out. 🙁

  • hughman

Well if Chris’s choice is a crew neck or nothing, I SAY BRING ON THE NOTHING. ALL THE NOTHINGS!

I am going to beat the next person who comes near him with a bronzer brush with a broom. Or at the very least, LEARN HOW TO BLEND, makeup artists.

Andy Dwyer was perfection just the way he was. STOP TRYING TO MAKE FETCH HAPPEN.

  • marlie

Chris is looking a lot like Ben Affleck in these pictures, especially the second one. As for the clothes, they’re not so bad aside from being a smidge too small, but I totally agree with TLo’s theory that maybe he’s laying off of his crazy workout regime now that the movie is finished filming. In general, I like this as a casual daytime look, and I have no problem with the v-neck shirt.

  • LadyVimes

All in favor of removing the jacket for *ahem* style purposes say ‘aye’.

  • Kitten Mittons

Not crazy about the V-neck either, but that blue on him is just dreamy. And I love his shoes.

    But if that’s less makeup…..yeesh.

It’s okay, you’re still adorable, Chris.

  • Anna

Such a shayna punim. Such terrible-fitting clothes (and bronzer, egads!)

  • fursa_saida

At some point, the option of just not buttoning the jacket should be considered, no? This seems like a pretty easy way to make the fit less obviously egregious, right? Am I missing something here? Is not buttoning the jacket the same kind of faux pas as buttoning the bottom button, for men?

  • Latin Buddy

I’m fat by gay-boy standards so I often pull out the v-neck shirts to make me look lean…it’s the equivalent of a slim black dress for the ladies. Mayhaps Chris is doing the same now that he’s going back to normal.

    • mjude

      you are adorable.

    • Wink

I agree. V-neck shirts elongate the neck by ‘opening up’ the chest area. Crew-necks draw attention to the size of your neck. “Beefy” guys don’t need to emphasize their big necks.

    • Jacob Bowen

I am v-neck or nothing type of gay. I don’t wear crew necks if I can help it!

  • mjude

I went back to look at the makeup. morgue makeup.

    • Lisalady161

I freaking HATE the bronzer trend and the ‘makeup artists’ who don’t know how to apply it properly. You have to prime guy skin too, people. Or as soon as they start sweating it gets soaked up or runs off.

  • Lisalady161

Why don’t male stars who have to work out hire the same tailors the pro athletes do? Those folks know how to fit a bulky body!

  • MilaXX

I wouldn’t mind any of this if it was in his size. Also please let him get his face fixed. I can;t tell if he skipped the makeup chair and the spray tan is fading or what, but he looks over-tanned on the face and oxygen deprived on the lips. Also? Neck beard. Just say no!

  • deelup

This is nearing Sleepy Hollow lady jacket dude level.

  • Well, we can certainly help him out of all those clothes, can’t we?

  • Gatto Nero

All that fabric pulling looks uncomfortable.
And I’m with you on the “no V-neck with a jacket” rule.
Face and hair are cute, though.

  • Shawn EH

Is the photocall in front of St. Paul’s? I don’t know whether to look at Chris, the tacky poster, or the architecture!

  • Pepper Collins

He still remains pretty handsome nonetheless.

  • giddypony

Love the color of the blazer on him.

  • JulieK

I think I have that same heather grey v-neck. I got it at Target. I’m thinking his stylist should do better than my impulse Target buys.

    • c8h10n4o2

I got mine at Old Navy on sale. They really need to expand their shopping beyond “broke & sloppy grad student” bargains.

  • msdamselfly

    he does look handsome, though

  • Jen

    still a lotta makeup

  • Kent Roby

If I were famous, my absolute #1 requirement of pole-dancing would be “No daytime outdoor photocalls….EVER”.

    • kimmeister

“Or if they must be outside, provide me with awesome sunglasses!”

      • Kent Roby

Yeah, but guys in shades are often labelled with the d-word, so it can be tricky.

  • Who knew one could get such a pronounced sunburn in London?

  • Soozables

    That bronzer though…

  • In_Stitches

I think the jacket fits pretty darn well. He’s doing a lot of fidgeting and that’s going to make it look like it’s pulling more than it is when he stands still, arms at his side.

I’m normally anti v-necks under blazers because it can read very douche-y, but Pratt is such a schmo that he can pull it off.

  • Freynika

It’s like someone handed Andy Dwyer a jacket so he could eat at the fancy club.

  • alyce1213

His hair is so much better au naturel. The stickup ‘do the other day distracted from his sweet face.
As to v-necks with jackets: for me it’s a matter of degree. I think a higher v-neck works with a jacket, especially for bigger guys. A plunging v-neck looks a little pajama-y to me.

    • Kent Roby

Case in point: with Tom Mison (ignoring the lady-jacket for the moment), the neck of his shirt is somewhere between crew and scoop, so it, too, would look better without cutting down so far.

  • Imasewsure

Keep the t-shirt, boxers and that face and we’re fine. He really needs a (better) stylist though…. funny that it has all been so bad… 10 minutes in Old Navy would have brought better results… oh well

  • FibonacciSequins

Take your hands out of your pockets, Chris. And is that blush I see on your cheeks?

V-neck tees were just not made to be worn under jackets, as far as I’m concerned.

  • You’re a cute guy, you’re famous, try a little, will you?

  • Nika E

    He’s still really hot though…

  • nannypoo

I watched the adorable video where he french-braids a woman’s hair, and heard him say that his wife is “a feeder” so she likes him a little heavier. Apparently she’s getting her way. There is almost nothing he could do that I would not find charming, but I do wish he would get a wardrobe that fits.

  • Pterodactyl111

Too bad he’s staring into the sun.

  • KT

Yeahhh, this looks sloppy. Also, someone please get the poor man some sunglasses for god’s sake

  • evave2

Boy he looks schlubby here. If the jacket is a LITTLE TIGHT don’t button it. Look MORE casual.

  • Man Dala

This is a case for FBI agent Bert Macklin.

  • spirit52

Ok. If you refuse to use a stylist, at least ask the cashier at Sears for an opinion!

  • Snailstsichr

I have no complaints about the way he fills out the jeans.

  • Good thing he’s adorable. Everyone on his style team is fired.

  • Valdir

    He’s stil gorgeous, though

  • natty_bat

I’m actually in favor of him doing a little reversion to less-than-buff since I think it makes his face more interesting and less generic. However, you know that boy doesn’t put together his own press outfits, and yeah, nothing’s fitting quite right. Sadness, because it’s not his weight that’s an issue, it’s the clothes relative to the weight and body type.

  • Carrie Verde

Where is your chest hair, Chris Pratt?!?

  • boweryboy

I’m with you guys on the v-neck. What I don’t understand is how can he get it so wrong all the time? It’s not like he doesn’t have access to stylists and desingers and tailors.
