IN or OUT: Blake Lively in Gucci at the Chime for Change One-Year Anniversary Event

Posted on June 04, 2014

This is not bad, right?

Blake-Lively-Gucci-CFCE_Tom-Lorenzo-Site-TLO-(1)Blake Lively in a Gucci mustard three-quarter sleeve dress paired with Lorrainw Schwartz jewelry and Christian Louboutin pumps.

Blake-Lively-Gucci-CFCE_Tom-Lorenzo-Site-TLO-(3)Gucci Fall 2014 Collection

We’re asking. We can’t make up our minds. We really like the top half on her but we’re not loving the flare on that skirt. Looks like something that belongs under a Christmas tree. Plus, we question whether this mustardy yellow is her color and we SERIOUSLY question the idea of metallic shoes with it. The hair’s generic and the jewelry’s random.

Hunh. We think we just talked ourselves into not liking it.

Bitter Kittens make the call:

IN! She is giving me Sexy Stewardess and I’m living for it.

OUT! She is giving me baby poop-colored figure skating dress and I’m revolted by it.

The Kittens were Not-So-Bitter when it came to Amy Poehler’s business bridal look, voting it IN.

  • Gorengirl

OUT– Color does not suit her and clashes with her hair.

  • teensmom99

OUT. While the uncles might like the top, I think the big hole in the middle is not flattering and all I can think about is the tape she must have used. It’s too disracting.

    • MoHub

Agreed. I find the split top—especially since she has nothing on under it—looks as if she bought it four sizes too small, tried to close it, and had it embarrassingly pop open as soon as she took a deep breath.

      • FuhUgh

        Ditto – out

      • bitchybitchybitchy

Why do designers think that a big honking slit down the front of the bodice is a good idea?

        • MoHub

Because the bodices lie flat on most runway models unlike on real women.

          • bitchybitchybitchy

That’s true-when you’re putting clothes on walking hangers, you can pretend that that is the norm

          • AnguaVonUberwald

It would lie flat like that on me. I was a real woman last time I checked. ( don’t mean to be overly snarky, but “real women” come in all sorts of shapes, including boobless wonders such as myself)

          • Sophie

Then you can wear this kind of tops (but please not in that colour) and lord it over everyone else!

          • MoHub

Apologies. Of course, you are a real woman. but as you say, real women come in all sorts of shapes, but designers seem to create clothing only for the tall, thin, hipless, flatchested ones or fail to make adaptations for those who are not shaped like runway models.

          • AnguaVonUberwald

No worries! I understood your meaning, just objected to the wording.

          • EveEve

I’m not so sure that the particular body part in question is “real.” This dress, even in that color, would have looked great on Lupita.
I’m still giving it an IN. Nice dress, and the styling isn’t horrific.

          • barbarienne

Even if they are 100% natural, this outfit makes them appear larger than I recall them being. The whole look is all TITS and the rest of her just disappears.

      • smayper

        LOVE that narrative.

        • MoHub

Thanks! My beady little mind develops some weird scenarios.

    • smayper

      Agreed. Clothing overshare.

  • Latin Buddy

OUT. Girl cheapens everything. You guys were on-point when you said “she looks like a movie star…but isn’t”

    • conniemd

Yes, that explains my reaction to Blake Lively. She just likes like a bit player in a film, not a movie star. There is something just “off” about her.

      • d4divine

She always looks like she’s playing the role of movie star…completely lacking the ability to appear real.

    • DinaSews

OUT. Thanks. ‘Girl cheapens everything’ accurately describes my feelings. She will always be out for me. I can never get past the phony high school mean girl look on her face.

    • Kent Roby

Yes. Some people (Tilda, Queen Helen, Rhi, and usually Lu) are able to make bad outfits werq; Blake tends to make good-or-great outfits bland.

      • Judih1

        Totally Agree.

      • Thomas

Don’t forget to add Cate to that list! And maybe Lucy Liu and Fan Bingbing as well.

  • Frank_821

marginal out. It’s passable. the silhouette is fine but the color is completely wrong for her. Soemthing more saturated or jewel tone

    • Kristi Mitchell

I was going to say the same thing – a deep red or purply-blue might have made this an in for me. Or even an emerald green.

  • SarahVN

    I…I can’t. OUT.

  • Introspective

not bad but its certainly not for the busty. and the color is such a no.

a better color (royal blue or kelly green maybe) and no hole in the bust and we’d have a winner.

ETA: out. which is where blake’s fashion choices always seem to land…

    • KES4K

Yeah, the color and the bolt-ons really kill this one for me.

  • Kbear

Out, out out. Looks like someone elses dress. Wrong color for her. She is just so “tepid”.

    • Beardslee

And that someone else is Mary Tyler Moore, with the gap sewed closed.

  • Griffinqueen

I think those silicone hooters are too big for that keyhole.

    • Capt. Renault

Ten pounds of potatoes in a five pound bag.

    • Denise Alden

      Exactly my thoughts. Out.

    • schadenfreudelicious

“We’re gonna need a bigger keyhole”….so very, very OUT

    • Rhonda Shore

      I <3 the BKs.

    • Sartorial_She

What’s interesting about the boob-to-keyhole ratio is that she’s actually not showing much mammary tissue/silicone. Beyonce’s white jumpsuit posted earlier today displayed slightly more actual boobage than Blake’s dress does. And in the past, the BK’s have applauded many dresses which were much more boobtastic.

So what is setting us all off? Our collective dislike of BL? The boob-to-keyhole ratio in the context of this particular dress? I don’t know the answer but I’m curious to know if other BKs have insight.

      • KateShouldBeWorking

I’m gonna go with the fact that it’s a keyhole rather than a plunging neckline. It appears as though she’s – forgive the pun – busting out of it. Since she is voluptuous enough for that to actually happen, it’s tripping our Tacky Sensors.

      • R.A.

I don’t think it’s so much the amount of cleavage (or lack thereof) and more about the fact that it’s just too tight in the bust.

      • schadenfreudelicious

She may not be showing as much boob, but I dont find that type of keyhole flattering on larger busted gals, they gape and pull and the visual is just not pleasing…

      • Griffinqueen

I think a small bust works best with the keyhole so the plackets lay flat. The dress looks chicer on the model.
I’ve got nothing against boobs–I’m a busty gal myself. But I know the limitations this imposes on certain designs.

      • evave2

I am responding on your note here, She, because you are asking a serious question.
I don’t know what Blake Lively has done to generate the serious hate she gets here.
It’s like every time Adrian Brody leaves the house he generates such an unpleasant response here (I just realized I may be confusing Adrian Brody with Adrian Brophy – whatever, the Oscar winner).

She looks ok to me. I give her an IN just because everybody else is saying OUT and saying it so unpleasantly.
“She looks like a movie star, but isn’t.” I liked her in Savages. She was far from the worst thing on Gossip Girl.
Look at every thread of this whole page, it is filled with people everybody keeps saying Who is That (I actually looked up Sophia Bush from yesterdays CFDA post – I never watched any show she was on but may catch Chicago PD just because I’m from Chicago.) So there are LOTS of people trying to look like somebody famous.
Why does Blake Lively get so much venom?
She’s a generic pretty girl; she must be nice enough because people are willing to work with her (I note this, the bitches really don’t continue to get work.) and I never heard of her doing anything like Reese Witherspoon or God help us all Lindsay Lohan did.
        So why the hate?

        • Griffinqueen

She dresses badly and the BKs won’t stand for that.

        • Glam Dixie

I also noticed how nasty the comments were for her, even moreso than usual. I don’t get it either, she’s never done anything like say Reese Witherspoon to make herself look like a total bitch. She’s a tall, kind of bedroom eyed blonde who doesn’t always dress herself to best effect, oh my god, I must hate her!

          • demidaemon

I don’t hate her, but she does set off my irrational dislike sensors, mostly because she has the expression of the haughty girls I knew in junior high and high school who were (fill in the blank) to me, and I can’t get over the correlation. Also, she has zero style instincts and lacks the common sense to hire someone who does.

          • Glam Dixie

Mindy Kaling has way worse style instincts and Katie Holmes holds the crown for the nasty I’m better than you face and they don’t get the same hate that this poor girl gets. I’m no fan of theirs, but this girl and Kristen Stewart really seem to push peoples buttons. I just don’t get it, but I certainly have the ones I can’t stand so to each their own I guess.

          • demidaemon

I think, for me, is that I can find something to appreciate about all those other people (except maybe Katie Holmes, but I’ve given her a pass due to crazy having to deal with Scientology stuff that will probably end soon, and even then I can’t muster up more than an “enh”), but I have trouble finding something to appreciate in Blake. It’s probably just how I feel.

          • gabbilevy

She defaults to that dead-eyed, heavy-lidded expression on the RC, with the subtext of “be sexy be sexy be sexy.” Which, coincidentally, really never does come across as sexy. Thats what bugs for me, anyway.

        • KateShouldBeWorking

I don’t hate her but I can’t say I like her. The most negative thing I can say is that I don’t find her especially talented or charismatic. I am unaware of roles or campaigns that she got over others I would have preferred so I, personally, can’t get too worked up.

        • SophieB210

She’s the human equivalent of “Stop Trying to Make Fetch Happen.” She plainly wants so badly to be a style icon a la Cate Blanchett but doesn’t understand fashion enough to realize how much her “generic pretty girl” look and silicon C cup are the antithesis of her goal.

          • evave2

That still doesn’t explain the venom. Someone above said she reminded her of girls she knew in high school.
Strangely that reminds me of a scene in that Legal Whatever with Reese Witherspoon in which someone is rude to Reese and she asks why and the other girl says you remind me of the unpleasant girls in high school. To which Reese replied, I have never been anything but polite so that makes you just like them, treating somebody badly just because. It’s the venom. If she is trying to be Cate Blanchett she has set an unmeetable goal. It’s just that everybody mentions other people who just miss the mark in fashion. But Blake Lively gets the venom of somebody who bathes in baby blood.

          • cocohall

It’s sort of a mystery to me too, as I just can’t see any reason to get so worked about her – she just seems sort of generic – a pretty girl who sometimes dresses nicely and sometimes not. I didn’t watch the show she was on – was her character unpleasant and people are assuming she IS her character? As for this outfit, she looks like she should be in that Airplane movie as a sexy stewardess. It looks more like a costume than real clothes. But that’s about all the criticism I can muster.

    • Tessa85

OUT. The dress would look better on someone flat-chested. I don’t hate her, but I’ve never seen her in anything which makes me question her ubiquity (see also Kate Bosworth and Sienna Miller).

  • Jeremiah Capacillo

IN. Although the look tends to go waitressy, the dress is sassy and fun. Could have done better accesorizing though.

  • OUT! Resoundingly not her color, and when you fellas said you liked the top half on her my reaction was “You do?!” Slutty truck-stop hostess of the future.

  • hughman

Ew. I am too distracted by the Boob Alien bursting out of her chest.

  • Aidan B

OUT. Definitely not her color; it’s too close to her skin and hair color, and she looks monochromatic. Hate the cut of the top, and the hair is weird.

  • Marcella Cypher

Gross. She’s reminiscent of a waitress hooker from the 70’s.

  • lunchcoma

IN. It’s not perfect, but I think it’s cute.

  • flamants

OUT because of the color. It looks like mustard yellow against the model’s pale skin and dark brown hair, but next to golden skin and golden blonde hair, it does skew, well, baby poop.

  • Monabel

“Orrible in so many ways. Out.

  • alyce1213

Out. I’m craving a hot dog now.

  • decormaven

Out. The color clashes with the skin tone/hair color, and the bosom is yearning to break free. Not necessary.

  • jtabz

I actually think it’s a cute cut on her, though, yes, the fit in the bosom is stretching the limits of both the fabric and good taste.

  • conniemd

Out. Wrinkled skirt drives me crazy too.

  • Tanya Wade

“Delusional 70s Stewardess who reads to much Erica Jong.” OUT.

    • bluefish

  • Kayceed

Ugh. Out – keyhole is badly proportioned and puce is just not a great color on most folks.

    • kimmeister

      Puce? Puce is brownish-purple.

      • misstressofsylar

        Or is it puke?

  • BlairBear

Out. The closed collar with a key hole looks like it doesn’t fit and the color is not good on her the jewelry is hideous. She can keep the shoes and hair though

  • @Biting Panda

OUT. The color, the keyhole, the smug expression. All of it. Out!

    • TinyDynamo

The smug expression that somehow implies a complete lack of any actual thoughts. It’s almost admirable in it’s vapidness.

    • demidaemon

The expression is also what tipped me over into OUT territory.

  • Shelby

Out. I like the shape of the dress, but despise the color. And I’m not sure the color works well on her. I would have probably voted in if the color was a jade green or a nice burgundy.

  • boweryboy

OUT. I like the dress, but not on her. The A-line is ruined by the way it fits her body. Maybe she had it altered or maybe it’s not a dress for busty ladies.

    • poggi

Agreed. For a dress with sleeves, that’s a lot a real estate in the bust area to have uncovered. The covered up sleeves and a-line skirt only serve to draw attention to the chest slit which ends up looking like a gaping cleavage window (a picture window at that) on her.

  • ♠♥zee♣♦

    OUT- It’s painfully boring.

  • queeniethebold

  • JP

OUT — Girl that is NOT your color.

  • Anna

Time for Change: Less Boobs and Legslies.

  • TinyDynamo

Out. Even her boobs are trying to get the hell out of dodge.

  • Lex

OUT- it is too monochromatic with her hair and her coloring. I think it makes her look all very yellow from head to toe. I DO like the dress but think someone with more contrasted coloring would make it sing

  • Celeste

  • Jangle57

I didn’t have to talk myself into not liking it, it invoked an immediate feeling of revulsion on my part. Hate the colors, hate the leather trim and I hate the design of the dress from top to bottom. I don’t even like it on the model. OUT

  • Glam Dixie

I like the dress on her a lot, but boy do I hate that color. Shoes are inoffensive but bland face and hair are pretty, so I’m giving it a tepid IN.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Out – she looks like a bottle of French’s Yellow Mustard.

  • butterflysunita

OUT. Hideous dress with overly large boob window.

  • Meri

Out. It’s very much not her color, and I can’t even judge the rest of it on her because of that.

  • PeggyOC

Out. The color is terrible, it’s her usual game of something that might be nice that she wears with too much hooter or legs.

  • ThaliaMenninger

I’m thinking she’s in a production of You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. I think she’s playing the little sister. And she’s OUT.

  • melanie0866

IN. She’s come a long way from her Boobs Legsly days.

  • KendraMR

OUT. I hate the color and the slit is for a woman without that much boobage.

  • appliquer

Out – not a fan of the color and another dress inappropriate for summer.

  • Alyssa

Out. Don’t like the keyhole or the color. While her hair may be generic, I would love to have hair like that!

  • rissa42210

OUT – She is giving me 70’s porn star trying to clean up her image despite bad color instincts and I’m revolted by it.

  • SewingSiren

It is at least one size too small. If it fit , it would be fine.

  • Oh, Marcia, Marcia, Marcia…

  • TerryMarie

OUT — that color has turned her yellow all over. Not a good look for ANYONE.

  • Michael_Jones

I’m thinking it’s a lower-case “out.” I don’t love that colour on her, and it’s feeling a little boobtacular on her. I think you need to be built a little more “model” than “sexy starlet” to pull this one off.

  • whaddami

Gah, what a gawdawful color! Who would put that on a blonde????

  • luludexter

out! the dress is ok, especially the skirt, but that is *really not her color* and the shoes clash

  • Bernadette

Out she looks like a slutty 60’s air hostess and NOT in a good way.

  • Jennifer Bober

Out, mostly based on color choice.

  • Out. I actually like the shape but I can’t overcome that hiddy color.

  • I really love the dress and it suits her except for the color. Blake today and Shailene Woodley yesterday have taught me that tan people probably shouldn’t wear yellow. But I actually like the shoes with it and though nothing on her head is exciting it at least goes with the outfit, so I’ll say IN.

  • Lori

Out. Boobs busting out of a poop colored figure skating dress, with generic hair & blah jewelry. I’m not exactly revolted by it, but I don’t like it. Plus she’s doing that annoying head tilt, mouth open pose she always does. I’ve come to really hate that.

  • Jecca2244

weird styling. I feel in general that she has looked great recently and I think it might have to do with her not wearing super short and super tight looks. She’s a Camilla Belle in my book though…her celebrity baffles me.

  • Mary Elizabeth Poytinger Baume

1960’s flight attendant. all she needs is a pillbox hat and Roger Sterling on her arm.

  • Annmarie Kane

OUT. That color is universally fugly.

  • Rhonda Shore

OUT. I don’t like the top part either, it looks like it gapes…

  • Nancer

OUT. Color, cut, boob-slit – no.

  • NMMagpie

That color is wonky and it’s just so…expected from her. Out.

  • Danielle

    So much mustard.

  • MilaXX

OUT! I don’t like the unnecessary boob window, that’s not her color and the metallic accessories don’t go.

  • StarburstLady

When I saw “Blake Lively” in the headline, I was all set to declare this out, but it really isn’t bad. IN for improvement? Though I also hate the color.

  • Judy_J

I didn’t have to think twice about this one. OUT.

  • Nicole

Out – dress does not flatter her figure, colour is icky.

  • Julie Chase

The color is all wrong for her and the shoes clash with it.

  • crash1212

OUT. That span of chestal area revealed by that gaping maw is freaking me out…she looks plastic under there. *shiver*

    • if she has had boob work done — she is plastic under there.

  • Pj Bryant

Love, love, love this colour and style. She looks awesome.

  • elleg929

    Out – horrible color

  • Lilah

I love the dress. I do think it would look better on someone not quite so boobtacular. Also would have been better in the ox blood color that was also in the collection. Tepid IN.

  • sunflower

OUT. could have been in if it were a different color

  • Aurumgirl

Who keeps putting her in yellow? It’s a colour that makes her look green.

  • Mustard not a good color for her … or most people. Great for hot dogs, tho!

  • Sarah

Out. I hate that color, and I hate it even more on her.

  • ashtangajunkie

Out. I hate all of what’s happening here.

  • Sunraya

Out. She is too busty for that dress opening. Did she get new boobs? They look really fake and are not flattered at all in this dress.

  • samo_samo

The bottom is so wrinkled which I find really weird. It’s not bad, but I’m going to say OUT. The wrinkled bottom half pushed me into it.

  • Terri Terri

No, no no. The breastacular top half is bad, the color is bad, it’s all bad!

  • Liz

I’m not sure who would look good in that color-blech. Out.

  • MissusBee

Out. Baby poop is a terrible color against her hair and the escaping boobs thing says ‘bimbo’, which is plain sad.

  • ktr33

Out. I rather like the shape of the dress, but 1) I think it’s for a flat- or nearly-flat chested girl, 2) that is likely nobody’s color, except squirted on a hot dog, and 3) the skirt’s all wrinkly. Also the shoes are wrong. Also, she has that blank expression she seems to favor. So, yup, out.

  • James

Out. Her boobs tearing her dress in the middle is not what I should be thinking. Ghastly color too.

  • Miranda Neville

    OUT. Hiddy.

  • OUT. The split top turns her boobs into an ass bared by split pants. Yellow is not her color—makes her look even more wax doll-like than she normally does.

  • ChelseaNH

OUT — the color is completely wrong. Plus the Sexy Stewardess thing is kind of a negative, unless you nail the styling, which she hasn’t.

  • Kent Roby

OUT: the outfit itself is fine, and she wears it okay, but her innate blandness drags everything down.

  • KT

It’s a pretty cute dress, but it definitely would have looked much better in another color. Maybe in a navy or forest green. Although just thinking about these colors, and considering the sort of back-to-school vibe this dress has (albeit, the Hollywood reinterpretation of course) makes me think this would work better as a fall outfit — with boots and a pea coat to go with it. The dress needs something more to make it sing. I’ll still say she’s IN, but she could have done better.

And you’re right, the shoes are all wrong.

  • Anne Elliot

out. girl is always posing so hard

  • Snailstsichr

Out for all your reasons and also I don’t like the shoes with this dress.

  • BLauD

Out. Mostly because I can’t find anything I like about it…

  • d4divine

Out…for all the reasons stated before my post

  • LadyVimes

Should have been a pencil skirt. The flare isn’t working.

  • another_laura

Out for reasons stated well by others. (I just like seeing my own comments!) She should stay away from that color, the bodice is ugly and the shoes are awful with it.

  • mickiemonkey

Horrid color and it looks like her boobs are going to pop out and roll across the room.

  • Imasewsure

Slightly OUT I can live with the top and the color (almost) but the bottom in kind of ugly and the fabric is dull overall

  • frannyprof

Out. Horrible fit and wrinkled skirt. And baby poop.

  • suzq

Despite the Jeannie C. Riley, Harper Valley PTA realness, No. The color is ugly as sin and the lampshade skirt makes this look like a bad 1960’s go-go costume.

“Chime for Change” is about raising money for women’s education, justice and health care around the world. What a perfect event to show off the rack, don’t you think?

    • Shawn EH

Some people are too dumb to be stars.

      • demidaemon

I didn’t know they actually had a bar set for that.

        • Shawn EH

I think she and Ry-Ren are trying to lower it, nonetheless.

          • demidaemon

Well, good luck to them on that, I guess.

  • trisker

    Out. Hate color and style.

  • jilly_d

I feel like if this were in a berry color, it would have been terrific. As it stands, it’s a lower case “in.”

  • Tricia Rose

Out: mostly because of the vacant drugged look in her eyes.

  • vitaminC

“She looks like a pixie stick smuggling volleyballs, smuggling grapes, smuggling craisins.” So to speak. OUT.

  • altalinda

Out. But could have been an in with some tweaks. FItted better in the bust so she’s not bursting out. And get rid of the wrinkles.

  • E. D.

OUT. Someone’s trying to make the 70s happen. It’s not going to happen. What’s next, a macrame top with an avocado green maxi skirt?

  • warontara

Out!! This color is terrible on her. It makes me think of movie theater butter for some reason. Even if it were a better color, it’s still yawn-inducingly generic.

  • Eclectic Mayhem

    OUT. On principle.

  • Betsy

    Please make her go away.

  • Shawn EH

She is giving me my kindergarten school teacher’s cleavage peephole and that’s NEVER BEEN RIGHT! Out! And old-fashioned!

  • Meg

OUT. It looks like a mustard Jetsons costume.

  • Andrea Lentz

OUT i think this would be way cuter on someone else but i can’t think who lol

  • OUT! What is it with all of the ladies today and wearing things that make it look like their boobs hate each other?? I’m not suggesting pushed together cleavage as a necessary alternative, but it looks like you could drive a truck through that space. Same goes for Taylor Schilling and, to a lesser extent, Beyonce.

  • dash1211

    Oh [yawn] out.

  • Out. If it had been in almost any other color it’s be in. But the lame hair and accessories keep it squarely out!

  • Heather

The top makes her boobs look weird.

  • greymain

OUT not a good color…HATE the chest slash….

  • LeelaST

OUT. That cleavage situation – ugh. Plus color, fit, shoes…

  • B_C_J

OUT! Her bust is too large for the design of the top. The color is horrible on her & she is utterly forgettable in this.

  • FibonacciSequins

OUT. Her cleavage looks plastic and it’s all I can see.

  • Fyolette

out. damn, that’s way too much yellow for one picture

  • If it were on someone who isn’t her, I’d probably give it an in, especially if it were a woman with darker skin. As it is, girl, that’s not your dress. OUT.

  • kimmeister

Out because it’s not her color and it’s even making her eye shadow look bad.

  • quiltrx

OUT. First thing I thought was “no to baby-shit-colored clothing.” Right up there with ‘puke’ on my least favorite colors list.
I don’t care for her, but I can admit when she looks good–but this ain’t it. Unflattering and she looks hunched over (which usually means something in the fit is off, at least for me).

  • newidentity

hate the color and the top half (or maybe the whole thing) is giving me 70s flight attendant porn vibes. Maybe I’ve seen her cleavage too much in the past few weeks.

  • Devon Whittaker

OUT. The Boobs are bad. Just bad.

  • sunshine and chaos

Out. Wrong colour for her, don’t like the sleeves, top is too tight. The flare of the skirt doesn’t bug me but that hip-level horizontal seam does. Why is it there?

  • Uh…? First of all the top is TOO SMALL… Secondly, it’s all a wrikled mess. I’d put a zipper in the front even on the runway look…

  • Kerry McCombs

    No. Out. Yuck.

  • Michelle

I love the shape of the dress, personally, but it’s too many yellow tones at once, what with the dress, earrings and hair. I think it’s an IN overall because the dress is beautiful, though.

  • Jean Beaton Leavitt

Out…she is all one color..isn’t that a nono?

  • Not a dress for someone with boobs

  • demidaemon

Well, it looks like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen (anyone who is over an A is basically going to bust out of this dress) and her expression just naturally irritates me, so OUT.

  • nannypoo

She seems to like that facial expression in the first picture. She often defaults to it but, sadly, it makes her look less than bright.

  • Emily Roach

OUT. The keyhole isn’t good on someone with a bust like that.

  • GeoDiva

OUT: It looks like she stole it off the costume rack from that bad Gwyneth stewardess movie “Over the Top”.

    • Amel

      my thought EXACTLY

  • Miss Ruth

OU(CH)T. That color. Holy 1972 doctor’s waiting room, Batman.

  • Steve Ek

Out. Color, bad. Fit, bad (at least one size to small for the boobage and it looks like she can’t breath). Shoes, pretty, but not with this dress.

  • Amel

OUT: that color kind of blurs with her skin tone and hair so at a glance she’s just a mustard-colored blob with metallic pumps

  • somebody blonde

OUT. Tit window. Also that color is terrible on her.

  • TheLaurenJean

If it were in any other color, but this? Baby diarrhea should just really not be allowed to be a color.

  • CT14

That color is horrible, and I hate the dress.

  • Lisalady161

I like the dress and I like the way it fits her, but that color has got to go.

  • Sarah

OUT. Awful color for her, awful skirt shape, awful hole in the chest of the dress. She might have sold it with an actual facial expression, though

  • Qitkat

It’s a pair of roller skates and a frilly apron with 29 kitschy pins away from a fifties throwback diner waitress uniform. Yeah, that means Out.

  • marlie

OUT. Not Blake’s color, and not her fit; that dress belongs on a slightly less-busty ladystar. And her makeup, hair, and expression are the definition of “snooze.”

  • unbornfawn

OUT. Don’t like the color and that pointed collar, naked chest combo on top is awful.

  • musi_

don’t hate it but leaning to OUT. makes her hair look like straw. i don’t mind the shoes with it. her chest also looks like its fighting for freedom.

  • Danielle West

Even though she’s one color from head to toe I still give this an IN.

  • uprightcitizen

Out. For all the reasons you guys said, plus she’s got way too much bosom for that dress. She’s busting out of it and making it go all wonky. This belongs on Zoey Deschanel, but that color is tough for any white girl.

  • Courtney

The color is just not happening for her. Hair, skin, dress, all kind of blend together and not in an attractive or pleasing way. Out.

  • random_poster

OUT. That color does not look good on her at all.

  • macwell

Not bad at all, but the lighting seems to be washing her put or something. …

  • Judih1

Out – hate the style, the color and her silly posing just makes it worse

  • Out. This dress only works on a runway model, and while Blake has a killer figure, the dress is for models only. Oh, and the baby bm color doesn’t help.

  • Mothra

Out. Terrible color and her boobs are too big. Well I mean, they look great but I think they are a little too pushy for that look.

  • AnniNoone

OUT. Do the Fug Girls still call her “Boobs Legsly”?

  • Alloy Jane

OUT. That color is awful on her and unless she’s going out into the world as a corn dog, should never be considered again. Oh, and Boobs Legsly living up to her name.

  • Sophie

Out. Hate the colour, the big slit in the front, the hair and the earrings. I think it could be marginally improved if the dress were the shade of the leather bands.

  • Out. She looks sallow.

  • kfizz

OUT out out OUT!! No no no. That’s the worst combo of garment color and complexion I have literally ever seen. I am shocked. So bad.

  • Melissa Mendes

Nope. Looks like a Barbie doll, not in a fun way. Like the Barbies I gave the ugly outfits to and didn’t let ride in the convertible.

  • Kelly

Out. “Jaundice” is not a good look for her. And the giant keyhole is just tacky.

  • Khaleesi1031

OUT–this has Halloween flight attendant costume all over it, all that is missing is the included hat accessory

  • Pterodactyl111

Out. I really just want to sew up the middle.

  • Margaret Grace

Make it in ox-blood, dark green, navy or something and I would love it! (but then, of course, it wouldn’t be appropriate for this time of year)

  • LibKat

Judy Jetson’s sex tape. Very out.

  • Out. A bare sternum is not appropriate for street wear.

  • smh4748

Out. I think I could get behind the dress, but that is so emphatically not her color that I just can’t forgive that. You may be supremely gorgeous, Blake, but it turns out you can’t wear *everything,* and mustard is on your “can’t wear” list.

  • Haley Buchanan

OUT. No yellow on blondes. Even as a foolish blonde teenager, I have always instinctively known this rule, and Blake should too.

  • MartyBellerMask

Questionable details, but not enough to call this one out. Therefore, IN.

  • In, but only because it reminds me of Vera Ellen’s rehearsal tap dress in “White Christmas”.

  • ankali

Eh, IN, I guess. She looks nice enough, though the color’s not great on her, and her eye makeup kind of sucks.

  • Jarethee

I actually wish she was wearing the boots that the model had.

  • Samantha Irene

IN – if she’s going for Southwest Stewardess from the 70’s. OUT – if that was not the desired effect.

  • BrianaJC

OUT – really bad color. You’re spot on calling out the shape of that skirt on her. And the shoes and jewelry are not right. If this were separates, she could keep the top in a different color, and pair it with some giant ball gown of a skirt.

  • holla

girl that is not your color. OUT. This could be really nice if it was a deep jewel green or blue. the shape is very nice though.

  • OUT…even if someone had steamed the skirt.

  • Rebekah B

I’m one of the few (it seems) who likes Blake Lively, and yellow’s my favorite color, but even I have to go with OUT on this one.

  • Joey Melliza

    Stewardess for Air Honkytonk Realness

  • barbarienne

OUT, for the color alone. Ew.

But more than that–the keyhole is accentuating her bosom to the point where that’s all you see. Everyone wants to look like they’ve got big boobs, but this outfit reduces Ms. Lively to a pair of tits and nothing else.

  • Laura Livingston

    Hustler Magazine’s office receptionist.

  • Mary Lauer

Out. SO not her color! Look how it sings on the dark haired model!

  • webslice33

IN! she’s the quintessential All American Girl!

  • mdcoon127

color out, and girls are out too not in a flattering way in that dress

  • AthenaJ

Boobs Legsy is looking very boobs legsy.

  • I think there’s a charming sort of comedy to the dress that elevates her above Boobs Legly. It’s better the way the model’s wearing it, and the color’s not really her color, but the sum total is an IN.

  • patticake1601

OUT – Austin Powers Airlines flight attendant uniform.

  • Pablo

Out, but I’m living for the boots on the model.

  • katiessh

Is there room for MEH? I like almost everything apart from the colour.

  • NBG

Lea Michele wants her dress back.

  • AnneElliot

    Baby-poo colored figure-skater outfit = automatic OUT.

And I am so tired of the sternum-baring fashions.

  • Mousentrude

Out. She looks about ten years older than she actually is, which may be the dress or the hair and make-up. Either way, I don’t think it works. At all.

  • CheriCPat

Out. Chest slit is too wide, even on the model. Not her color.

  • D J H

OUT. Everything about the dress is unflattering on her–the color, the busting out keyhole (ew), the skirt–and the shoes don’t work either. Every time I’ve seen her not in costume, her clothes have been boring (on her), cheap-looking (even when they clearly are not) and questionably styled. She needs a new stylist who knows how to dress her.
