Hit it, Ro. We’re fixing’ to judge ya.

On someone else, we’d probably declare the combination of that dress with those shoes to be officially “Too much.” But her looks practically beg for extreme styling. She can handle a lot being thrown on her and this combination, which we reiterate, would be tough for most to pull off, isn’t even causing her to break a sweat. This is entirely within her wheelhouse. And honestly? It’s how she should dress more often. There’s something almost comic-booky about her looks, so she should embrace BAM! POW!-style fashion. We’re digging the hair.

On the flipside:

We think this kind of proves our point. It’s not a bad dress. In fact, it would look gorgeous on a lot of ladies. But it goes bleh on her because she really responds better to bold, bright and graphic, rather than lacy and somewhat delicate. And that lip color is heinous. Looking at the first set of pics, she not only responds well to bold, bright and graphic fashion, but it looks better on her when she keeps her face relatively clean.

There you go, girl. Your style brief for the next decade. You’re welcome.

    • gorghast

That first look is bananas amazing.

      • demidaemon

        It is!

      • ballerinawithagun

This is totally me! She looks fabulous except for a small quibble about where the waistline hits her. Makes her look a little thicker than she is.

    • tallgirl1204

The woman in the second look is two decades older than the woman in the first look.

    • Qitkat

That bright graphic comicbook abstract print is stunning; but quibble, the waistline is too high. I lurve the checkerboard pumps with this.
Second look, pass it on to someone else.

      • Donna H

I was on my way down here to type except for the waist being eons too high, I adore it. But for all the fabulousness, the wrong waist kills it for me.

    • Glam Dixie

Gimme those shoes! Not loving them with that dress, but I’m willing to take your word for it. Let us not speak of the second look.

    • DesertDweller79

Wow, the first look is great. I really love that wild dress. The shoes with it is wonderfully ridiculous! Love it! Her makeup and hair there are also really great.

Yeah, the second look is kind of bad. That dress looks kind of drab on her. I couldn’t stop staring at that lip color in horror. Ah well. At least she looks great in the top look. I guess they can’t all be winners.

    • Janet B

Hard to believe the same person picked both dressed.

    • Kitten Mittons

I love the first look completely, with some fit exceptions. The waist seems too high, and it’s making for a very long, very depressed peplum. Otherwise, it’s a win.

We shall never speak of the second look again. This never happened.

      • kimmeister

Agree that the waist is too high, but I think peplums are her friend if they sit at the right spot.

        • Kitten Mittons

I think you’re right, this one’s just in an odd place, and doesn’t have enough “pep”. Normally, one would flatter her figure.

    • Danielle

Really just not a fan of the undercut on anyone except Natalie Dormer, but the first look is a stunner.

    • kmk05

Absolutely adore the first look. i can’t think of anyone else who could rock this, to be honest. The second is downright frumpy and is making me cry: I think it’s the combination of cap sleeves, badly defined waist and bunching lace.

Also, I can’t believe she shaved half her head AGAIN. After her difficulties in styling her hair the first time around, I thought she’d avoid it! Let’s see if she gets better hair gays this time.

    • KateShouldBeWorking

Where does she believe her waist is? Both looks suffer from weird torso fits.

      • Gatto Nero

Yes. And the peplum on the first look doesn’t help.

    • Tanya Wade

The first look is Jackson Pollock meets Debbie Harry amazing and I Must. Have. It. NOW!

      • MilaXX

Speaking of Debbie Harry, homegirls just out out another cd!

    • Sobaika

Wow. Scrolling from top to bottom is like a reverse makeover.

      • demidaemon

        Well said and true.

    • MilaXX

Love the first look, but that second look is awful? On top of all the things mentioned she is orange? Does everyone think they have to spray ran at Cannes?

    • homespunner

      Fug and fugger.

    • Anna

I could see Katy Perry attempting the first look and it would be typically cartoony cause she’d wear it with a yellow wig and have some sort of boob window put in; but the BAM! POW! is still coming across as refined on Rosario, not cheesy. Fix the waist up a bit and it would be perfection.

I’m getting house dress from the second look.

    • kimmeister

D&G lace looks are just not in her wheelhouse. She’s one of the few who could probably make Peter Pilotto work.

    • Bad Idea Jeans

The first dress is also doing some “enthickening”, but it’s MILES above the second dress.

    • myandyleigh

I think there are a lot of women out there that drift towards pink lipstick because they think pink is universally flattering and it makes them feel girlie. It isn’t and it doesn’t.

      • http://redheadedwolf.wordpress.com/ Laura Renee

So glad I am free of the delusion.

    • demidaemon

LOVE everything about the first look. It’s pretty much a WERQ. HATE everything about the second look. Lame lace dress with totally divergent (and not in a good way) headsuit. The only thing I kind of like in the second look is her hair.

    • crash1212

Those black and white pumps are TO DIE!

    • http://www.bertkeeter.com Bert Keeter

First dress would WEQ if it were not for that odd horizontal seam…. weird placement …sort of an early on maternity look?

    • andreawey

I might have a girl crush on this girl, she’s so strikingly beautiful yet natural and the first look is a knock out on her!

    • clatie

RoRo, I am super sorry that 1984 threw up on you in that first outfit.

      • ballerinawithagun

Perhaps that is why I love it so much! I dressed like this in my prime and still do with some limitations.

        • clatie

          You and me, both!

          • ballerinawithagun

Forgot to say that I also had my hair shaved off on the left side but had a gigantic perm on the other side.

    • Daisy Walker

That second look is hideous. I have no idea who it would work on. Grandma’s curtains with ink spots?

    • Amykl

MacKenzie-Childs shabby chic realness in the first pic.

    • Imasewsure

Love the first dress on her. Hate those shoes with it. The second dress could have been saved with sexy hair and better makeup. I don’t hate it but it’s a big meh on her as is

    • MissusBee

Love the first look. A great example of how to do sexy-by-attitude rather than sexy-here-are-my-boobs/nethers, which we. have. all. seen. so. many. timeszzzz.

    • VFinn

      I’m sorry, I can’t. I hate both looks.

    • Melissa Mendes

God I want Lupita to wear that first dress so bad.

    • Nika E

I love the top look. I just wish it was skin tight. Seems like it looks a little big on her and if it was tighter it would look perfect.. But even still I love it.

    • livesarah

Spot on about both looks. I just love her, and she doesn’t often get it as right as she does in the first look, so it’s great to see her in something that makes the most of her amazing looks.

    • Mr. J.

With her huge features she can dominate that first dress….and those shoes! She’s rockin’ that thing….Second look is Dullsville.

    • FibonacciSequins

I was hoping you liked her first look. As for the second – tablecloth city.

    • understateddiva

I kinda like both. Granted, the first works like gangbusters, but I think the second works too.

    • quiltrx

Love the first look, and those shoes are EVERYTHING.
Second look…if you described the dress for me (unlike my sister, who can’t describe clothes for shit, BTW), I would think it would be gorgeous. In real life, it’s not a *bad* dress, but something about the wide horizontal black detail stripes is incredibly ‘thickening’ to her slammin’ body.

    • marlie

I really like the first look, but it seems like the peplum is doing weird things to her midsection. And I think the shoes are a bit too much. But the second look is ALL wrong.

    • Dagney

Holy crap I LOVE that first look. Aggressive and bold fashion. She wears it well.

    • Joey Melliza

Is she pregnant? —- the harlequin shoes and the jackson pollock dress is a bit too much even on her — and i think the dress is just begging for a statement belt or something. As for the second — looks like a twee bride of frankenstein reject costume!

    • deech_sea

Digging the Jackson Pollack/Roy Lichtenstein look.

    • uprightcitizen

That first look is brilliant. Especially whoever came up with pairing those shoes with that dress. And the nearly-shaved side of her head is dramatic and awesome. Makes me think of her role as Mimi in “Rent”. The second dress, if the black bits were replaced with powder blue, would be my sister’s junior prom dress from 1976. It would make nearly anyone look a bit thick and shapeless, as well as flammable. And once you cut your hair like that, an up-do kind of just looks like you have alopecia.

    • Judih1

Disagree on the first look Love the shoes but when paired with that bukkake dress it is waay too many clashing elements for me. That Dolce & Gabbana Italian widow collection needs to go away. Haven’t seen a celebrity that looks good in that stuff yet

    • Mrs. O

Love the first look, as for the second, I’m sure I’m not the first to say that Gramma wants her curtains back.

    • cmb123

The fit on the second dress is where it goes completely wrong for me. If the waist was where it should be and fit her, it would change the whole look. It still looks a little like fancy sister wife, but fit would make it better. The first look is great. I love the shoes

    • TLJezebel

      Peplums must die.

      • Pennymac

They are the work of the devil.

    • lalahartma

      No.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

Love the comic book style graphics (obviously, given my tastes).
I wonder if the second look isn’t being done a disservice by the lighting – not that I really think the lace peasant dress is her thing, but I think the colors are being thrown by how orange the light is. She and all the photogs in the background look like they borrowed Boehner’s spray tan.

    • Reine Bron

she is actually glowing in the first one

    • Lucas

LOVE the paint splatter dress. LOVE her hair in the second photo series. LOATHE that lace granny gown! Beautiful woman, though. She can get away with virtually anything.

    • http://cheekypinky.wordpress.com cheekypinky

Her HAIR. *dies from the pretty*

    • ShaoLinKitten

The peplum on the first dress makes her look like she has no waist. Without it, the dress might be OK. Agree that she needs a bold, colorful look, but I don’t much like the shape on this one. Cool shoes though.

    • CatLady

I just can’t anymore with the Skrillex haircut.

    • JynxTheCat

how does the same team dress the same person so ridiculously inconsistently?

    • bringbackbeatles

First dress is amazing! Head to toe she looks awesome! Second dress is beautiful, but just doesn’t come alive on her like the first. Just not the best dress for her.
