Why is every lady star forcing us to declare her shoes wrong? WHY, LADYSTARS?

But at least this time they’re not ugly shoes. On the contrary; they’re killa shoes. But there’s so very wrong with this dress, which has a sort of sweetly retro relaxed sort of glamour to it. In fact, we really love the dress on her. And speaking of sweet, how ’bout little miss porcelain doll’s head here? Honey, what’s with the Marie Osmond hair?  Hair bows. Never really a good idea.

She does look cute, though. It’s just that we’re not sure if we can handle any more gripping toes on the red carpet. Struggle for your beauty if you feel you must, darling. But never let them see that you’re struggling.

    • @Biting Panda

Hair bows and peek-a-boob just don’t go together. ‘Tis a fact.

      • 3boysful

I was just going to veto “schoolgirl hair and boob vents . . .”

        • Alloy Jane

I find it deliciously ridiculous, especially when coupled with the “do me” naked sparkle sandals. Bow aside, that is verging on JBF hair, so all in all I feel like she’s channeling HBC just a tad with the overall silliness of this look.

      • Evan

Unless maybe you’re doing Lolita drag.

      • melisaurus

They don’t make sense for her either. Her more memorable looks tend to be sexy but simple. Not lots of ruffles bows and cut aways??

    • Sarah

Head of a child, dress a mix of 40′s day dress with keyhole & studs from 80′s punk rock time, and shoes of the 21st century. Like a non-cohesive Fashion Plate combo.

      • sojourneryouth

Yes. I want to like this, but I can’t. Nothing makes sense together!

      • demidaemon

So this is the fashion version of Denny’s Make Your Own Grand Slam?

      • Wendi126

Lost in slutty Yonkers dress with Jan Brady hairdon’t

      • Fuchaforever

        Totes!

    • Carrie

      Sparkle boobs.

I continue to remain amazed at how much her hair makes her appear older/younger than she is. It’s a bit too twee for me.

    • lalahartma

It is a terrible combo – and that hair and bow!

    • deelup

Think they saw studs on the dress and studs on the shoes and thought, ‘ah, these go together!’. She only needed a studded collar to complete the look.

    • hughman

The Alice In Wonderland hair bow makes her look like she ate the wrong cake.

      • Fuchaforever

        LOL

    • Roz

Lately I feel all the clothes are in a bin and the celebs have three minutes to pull an outfit and shoes out, get dressed and then hustle to the red carpet or whatever and get a photo taken.

      • twigg

I would watch that TV show.

    • halleygee

That is some elementary school photo day hair.

    • msdamselfly

      Great dress

    • Julie Chase

I love the dress, but she looks like a Madame Alexander doll with that bow and for that…I might have to grab some Anne of Green Gables and have a nostalgic day. Thanks Nina.

    • Nika E

Love the dress but the Arianna Grande hair is a NO

      • Kitten Mittons

At least she’s not wearing the Arianna Grande expression, too. “Whooo, meeee????”

        • Nika E

          Totally

    • Lilithcat

Why does she look so miserable?

      • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Wouldn’t you if you were wearing that get up?

    • NMMagpie

Hair bow and a questionable keyhole. Nope.

    • KES4K

I wish she hadn’t taped the keyhole open like that, it’s tacky and in weird contrast with the elementary school hair.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

You are right – if she hadn’t done that (and had just brushed her hair instead of putting that twee ribbon in) I’d have thought this was really nice.

        • Constant Reader

The dress is a pretty take on a classic look. If she’d left the keyhole alone, eschewed the obvious cleavage makeup, and forgone the hair bow, I might have forgiven the shoes and clutch. (Might. I may just be saying this because they look so much less offensive next to the other problems.)

    • anyalama

All I can see is that hair and its absurd.

    • kt

Dress is great, the Samantha ( american girl RIP) hair/ face is killing me

      • demidaemon

That’s it exactly! No, no, no, no, no to that style ever again. I’m having PTSD from my experience at their store in Chicago.

    • Glam Dixie

Love that dress, don’t mind the shoes with it. Hair bows equal kindergarten class picture to me so I’m having a hard time with the hair, I’m thinking this is Arianna Grande’s head.

    • crash1212

Those keyhole thingies are so much nicer when they lay flat as opposed to being forced open by boobage that isn’t really meant for that sort of thing. If that makes any sense.

      • FrigidDiva

I was coming down here to comment on that. There are just certain styles of dress that just don’t work for us girls that happen to have bigger busts than the runway models. (and I say that as a lady sporting DDD’s)

        • crash1212

I have a set of DDD’s my ownself! I don’t even wear button down shirts because of gaposis, so you’d never catch me trying to wear a keyhole!

          • FrigidDiva

Me either. Button downs are my mortal enemy.

            • mlle

I once went shopping for work shirts with a bunch of boys and explained that it’s not quite as simple for me since I don’t want to burst any buttons in the office.

    • Gatto Nero

Major keyhole cleavage *and* a little girl hair bow?
      Are you kidding me?

    • decormaven

Nothing goes together- toddler hair bow, retro dress with gaping keyhole neckline, sparkle clutch, and studded strappy sandals. That adds up to a big ol’ swing and a miss.

    • Betsy

A bow? Really? Almost as disconcerting as when grown women speak. “Baby Talk.”

    • mrspotts66

nope. nooooooope. the hairbow kills it for me.
      the dress is okay, though.

      the shoes. meh.
i really wish flats would come back.
shoe designers should be forced to wear their creations.

    • MilaXX

Dislike the twee hair bow, and the monkey toes, but I don’t hate this shoe. I think she could have chosen a better shoe, but at least this time I don’t want to throw things.

    • Christina

There is such a disconnect between the hair bow and sweet dress with those shoes and the taped open keyhole….it’s strange. It’s a gorgeous dress though, I want it.

    • Lily

I think I had that same hair bow in third grade.

    • pookiesmom

She looks like Wendy Darling. Out out out.

    • ballerinawithagun

Love all the hair bow comments! Such bad memories…For some reason I would wear this dress and I normally despise MK.

    • frannyprof

I declare that hair bow to be totally, totally wrong.

    • Jacqueline Wessel

Her face looks a little like Shelley Fabares. But that hair is so grade school it’s distracting from the dress, which I really like.

      • Imasewsure

That reference made me smile…LIttle Ms. Fabares indeed

    • SewingSiren

Very pretty. The dress is saved from Sunday school teacher by the deep neck keyhole and the little silver sparkle. Like a starry night.

    • KinoEye

That dress is perfect for her shape and coloring. The shoes are forgivable; the hair bow is not. What a weird record scratch on an otherwise lovely look.

    • Leah Elzinga

the length, the limpness, and the hairbow make for one sad head of hair… Pair it with the dress that seems, to me, a fair bit to big and it gives the weird impression of a little girl playing dressup.

    • Trickytrisha

She’s cute as a bunny, but wowser… that hair is elementary school stuff. The dress is good, don’t care for the shoes.

    • demidaemon

That hair. I can’t after that. The entire combination reads “I’m just a sweet schoolteacher until 8′o’clock at night.” That dress is weirdly dowdy with this styling.

    • TRSTL

Hair bow + “peek-a-boo” blouse = AWKWARD……. It is actually a cute dress that’ with a few style changes, could have been killer.

    • AlisonS

I do not see how you can peek-a-boo your tits and wear come-fuck-me heels and think a hair bow is appropriate.

    • http://www.readbarbara.com/ ReadBarbara

Yikes. Porn star librarian is now a look?

    • Dagney

what. WHAT is with the HAIR?! What the fuck? That’s a hairstyle for a 5 year old! Someone got paid to come up with that. I just can’t….

    • http://sharialbert.com shazziz

WTF with the bow? What is she 10? Why did no Gay snatch that shit out of her hair??? No friends?

    • quiltrx

I has a sad. I usually like what she wears (though I have no interest in her career-wise)…but she really flopped this one with the styling.

    • MaggieMae

Uproar in BitterKittenLand over a hair bow. Everything is as it should be.

    • http://cheekypinky.wordpress.com cheekypinky

That hair is very “I Was Homeschooled in the 90s”.

    • FridaStaire

Just so wrong! But perfect on the model – I want to be her!

    • FridaStaire

And I think that boob vent has been glued open. Shudder!

    • BookManFilm

      peek a boob (job).

    • sleepycat

Hmm, not liking the dress at all. Too “Miss Mae Darling, middle-class girl next door in the 1940s”

    • Joanna

In order to make this dress work, you literally have to a negative cup size. Even the slightest opening makes it look crass instead of suggestive. Unfortunate, given the fact that I otherwise love the dress.

    • lobsterlen

I wore my hair like that for my second grade school picture. Anyone over the age of 10 shouldn’t have a hair bow on top of their head. If its not a law it should be.

    • Fuchaforever

Th dress is gorgeous. Now that hair! Terrible. She looks like she ran up 50 flights of stairs with all those fly away hairs….anyway that’s a toddler’s hairstyle, come on! And the naked shoe has to be the laziest shoe of all time. I mean lazy as in “you have no creativity to get a more interesting shoe and think that naked stiletto is the go-to shoe, the shoe that will solve all fashion issues, the shoe that goes with anything- We’ll’ um N.O. No!

    • ScarlettHarlot

Adore the dress, despise the hair!

    • heuristicvalue

That hair…that BOW. WHY!? Her head is made for creepy porno, her shoes for hot porno. At least her dress is appropriate for the occasion.

    • antonialee

Ugh, I thought that hair bow was part of the backdrop in the first shot. It’s one big honey no!
