Christina Aguilera put on her “serious theatrical producer” dress and stepped out onto the red carpet at the opening night of her musical Burlesque in London.

This all appears to be very much in order. And by that we mean we’d never expect Xtina to show up anywhere in a demure and elegant look, but it would be downright wrong of her to do so at the opening of a Burlesque musical. Yes, it’s a horrifying design. Yes, it’s fetishwear. Yes, she might have looked better had she gone the Dita Von Teese or Gypsy Rose Lee route, but that is simply not how your girl rolls. We’ll say this as the only compliment we can truly muster up here: she went through a period where her fashion was terribly aging and tacky in all the wrong ways (chintzy, cheap and stale). This is tacky in a more modern, hard-edged sort of way and that tends to benefit her. The pit stain is unfortunate.
