Melissa McCarthy stopped by the Jimmy Kimmel studios to be insulted and interviewed by her Only Murders in the Building co-star Martin Short, as his iconic Jiminy Glick character. We’re thrilled that these two comic titans will be working together in the upcoming season and their little back-and-forth interview was funny and entertaining. Unfortunately, absolutely none of that matters because we’re shallow people and she wore something truly horrifying for the occasion.
It’s so heavy and black and … heavy. The boob flowers and sleeve flowers might work as a design element if the dress had a lighter, more summertime feel and color story, but this just looks so dreary and funereal, which is a strange way to describe a dress with boob flowers. Admittedly, it looks better on the set, but that’s only because the lighting isn’t that great. We suppose that indicates that she knew what she was doing when she picked this frock out, but bad lighting doesn’t make a poor design better.
