The stars came out in droves for the debut of Gucci creative director Sabato de Sarno’s first collection for the house. In keeping with the new direction, the looks were simple, minimal, and stripped bare of the extravagance that has defined the brand for so long. In fact, the looks were so simple that we find most of them to be fairly undiscussable. You can only say so much about a white shirt or basic trench coat, after all. Still, using these stars to promote the brand’s new direction was a smart way to go, even if the looks weren’t quite as eye-popping as Gucci front rows past.
Bad Bunny

Most of the looks were fine, although a few, like this one, were pretty disappointing. This is not utilizing the presence of Bad Bunny to its full effect.
Daisy Edgar-Jones

Cute.
Halle Bailey

The boots overwhelm the outfit a little, but the jacket-dress is nice.
Jessica Chastain

Also cute, although she may be pining for the va-va-voom styles the brand has been putting her in for years.
Jodie Comer

Hair and makeup are gorgeous; outfit is basic.
Jodie Turner-Smith

Of course she looks more fabulous than anyone there.
Julia Garner

Cute!
Julia Roberts

Dreary as hell. She deserved better.
Kendall Jenner

Also cute! What do you want us to say here? Can’t go wrong with a mini-trench.
Paul Mescal

He fills it out nicely, which is the only reason the ensemble works at all.
Ryan Gosling

Meh. Nothing wrong with any of this, but it’s not particularly exciting.
Troye Sivan

Gucci horsebit loafers do not go with everything.
