We’re back to virtual promotional tours for the time being, but we have two bits of good news to impart regarding that. The first is that everyone – stars, stylists, talk shows and even l’il ol’ us – have gotten pretty adept at navigating this form of celebrity style. The other good news is that Tracee Ellis Ross is promotion the final season of Black-ish at the moment and she happens to be one of the best in the business at punching through that Zoom screen through the use of loud and attention-pulling fashion.

The sort of funny thing is, she’s probably not making any sudden course corrections in her style choices. In other words, she would have worn this on the Good Morning America set if she’d had the chance and probably picked it assuming that she would be. We tend to think it’s better for a Zoom appearance, if only because the whole thing looks overwhelming on her, but the jacket alone is perfect in closeup.

We also tend to think she’d have worn this in the Kelly & Ryan studio if she’d had the opportunity. Why else would she have such showy, matching footwear? It’s all just a weensy bit much, but her default fashion setting is “Extra” and we wouldn’t want her any other way.
