We were perhaps a little kinder to them in our Cosmopolitan piece than we’re currently feeling in the light of day. In fact, we think this may be an instance of the wearers transcending the looks. In other words, the fashion is kind of goofy, but the people wearing it are pretty enough to make it look better than it actually is.
In each of their outfits there’s one detail that throws the whole thing off. For him it’s that bomber jacket. We don’t love that upholstery fabric but if it was rendered in a more traditional and well-cut suit, it would be a great look for him. Similarly we don’t blame her for showing off her legs but the proportions on that skirt are weird. It sits way too high and balloons out like a pair of bloomers. A shame, because the bodice looks fantastic on her.
