We trust Good Lady Cate to be the one who shows up at major awards shows in something challenging and off-the-beaten-path, but even we, who have loved and supported the efforts of GLC for nigh on a full decade now, are hard-pressed to show our support to … whatever this is.
Your Amazonian paper-lantern angel is here. We didn’t know such things could exist and we suppose we should be grateful to Good Lady Cate for showing us the possibilities, but the disconnect between that drag queen bodice and the weirdly moth-like quality of the dress is too much for our delicate hearts. Also: girl that pale yellow is not really your color. You can handle so much fashion – practically all of it – but you’re asking a lot of us with this one. It’s weird and that’s kind of good, but it’s too … we don’t know … discordant somehow. It goes in too many directions. Ditch the bejeweled bra and lean a bit more into the moth-lady/paper lantern idea, we think.
