Kittens, we don’t normally throw a question out for a couples post, but we can’t seem to come to an agreement on a point central to all red carpet couples posts; namely…
Are we looking at two people dressed to the same level?
Consider the following:
Natalia Dyer in Dolce&Gabbana
Personally, we can’t stand the dress and we wish celebs would take a good long break from the problematic Dolce & Gabbana, but the point here is that she’s dressed up and dressed appropriately. Time and effort have been put in for the sole purpose of making her look good for picture-taking. She’s the definition of “on point.” The lace is a bit too much and the shoes are definitely too much, but we can’t say she’s not right for the occasion.
Charlie Heaton in Ermenegildo Zegna
And to be fair, he’s working an extremely fine Zegna and some equally as fine footwear. His hair is as styled up as hers in its own way. We really can’t say he’s not doing the work himself – and in pretty fine form, if we’re being honest about it.
But somehow, he always comes off a bit sloppy or underdressed next to her. Are we wrong?
