Posted on September 23, 2015

Pope Francis is escorted by U.S. President Barack Obama, first lady Michelle Obama and other political and Catholic church leaders after arriving from Cuba at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. Francis will be visiting Washington, New York City and Philadelphia during his first trip to the United States as pope.

Darlings, the Pope-Fear has set in.

You see, Papa Frank will be appearing outside the gates of T Lo Manor this weekend – like, directly outside the gates. The massive crowds won’t be flowing past our windows. The crowds will be camped outside our windows for at least 48 hours. Hold us, darlings. We’re scared. But we’re also prepared, because we’re stocking up on wine and cake mix as we speak. Also: we’re thinking of standing in our front window and periodically making out just to break up the monotony.

Anyway, Shelley looks good here. She’s stylish but dressed appropriately for greeting a pope. With some alterations (remove the belt, straighten out the collar, lower the hem 2 inches, lengthen the sleeves, add a veil and sensible shoes) this could double as a nun’s habit. It’s a great color on her and we love the addition of the silver pumps, which make a slightly plain dress look a little more formal. The only thing we don’t think works for her is the neckline, which is too fussy and doesn’t suit her.
