Miley Cyrus broke one of our longstanding red carpet rules at the premiere of the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special but we find that we can’t be all that mad about it. The rule in question? Showing up to your red carpet event in clothing with your own face on it as a big no. Possibly the BIGGEST no. And yet?
This is kind of cute and fun, injecting a weensy bit of punk attitude (in a shimmery, sparkly, post-Disney sort of way) into an arena where you wouldn’t expect it. If Hot Topic made prom dresses, we think they’d probably be something like this. And we think we’d probably hate this design in almost any other setting. It suits her and the venue, but the chains and the cap sleeves are a little chintzy-looking. Still, we’re gonna put this one up to a vote because it’s the only single-look post going up today and besides, we want to see the Xers and Millenials fight about it. Let’s hear it:

There will also be some familiar *notes* that find their way back into the spotlight.
The special will premiere March 24 on Disney+ and Hulu.
