Now that movie awards season is well and truly behind us, we suppose it’s time to turn to the WORLD OF THE THEATER for our daily celebrity fashion hits. At the Standard Theater Award Winners Dinner in London, Special Lebedev Award honoree Cate Blanchett (for The Seagull), Best Musical Performance winner Rachel Zegler (for Evita) and Best Actress winner Hayley Atwell (for Much Ado About Nothing) served looks.

It’s extremely scaled back for Cate, but that feels right for an event like this one. We hate the high camp shoes and we think a little bit more in the way of jewelry was called for her.

Far be it for us to impose a dress code on an event we’ll never, ever be invited to, but this feels a little…we don’t know, grandiose? It’s not an awards ceremony, after all. Presumably, she needs to sit and eat in that. One a purely design level, the only thing we don’t like is the capelet. The rest of it is pretty dazzling and we like how insanely full the skirt is.
Rachel Zegler in Alessandra Rich
This is okay, we guess. It’s hard for us to rate any black lace dress because we’ve seen so many of them in the last couple of years. It suits her and it seems like it’s appropriate for the setting, but we can’t say we like the shape of the neckline or its ruffled trim.
