It’s Emma Stone in a lavender Louis Vuitton creation. Our long history of disliking lavender, as well as disliking whenever Emma Stone wears anything in her role as brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton, would seem to indicate that we should hate this.
But as we said in our Cosmo writeup, it really grew on us, almost instantly. First, while we’re not crazy about this color on it own, it actually looks great on her. Second, despite the relatively simple if not downright plain designs, the textural qualities and the shine do so much work in elevating it. We actually like that slouchy little cardigan, to our surprise. The dress is too plain without it and things like opera coats or marabou wraps are so played out at this point. This has a casually glamorous vibe that suits her perfectly. Her makeup is gorgeous but the hair looks too casual. And she could use some jewelry — but not too much, because she’s working a lot of shine already.
