One Battle After Another star Teyana Taylor is a lady of fashion extremes. It’s why we love covering her so much. You never know what she’s going to wear next but you always know it’s going to be dramatic as hell. For the BAFTAs, she showed up in a look that seems designed to remind people she’s more than just a body-serving queen. Sometimes, she’s all about that face.

That is pure spectacular. So many wearers — pretty much any other wearer — would be overwhelmed by this or it would come off costumey or gimmicky on them. But she’s got a demonstrated skill at working over-the-top designs and her need to constantly surprise people or to deliver something unexpected has led her to this look, where every single inch of her body is covered up except for her face. That color is a stunner and we love how well the bodice is designed so that the volume of it never overwhelms her. Of course the beat is flawless. It has to be when you’re practically serving it on a platter. Our only critique is extremely mild: the brooch gets lost in the design and it really isn’t needed.
