And now, as part of our ongoing project of pissing off romance fans, we have thoughts about those Heated Rivalry boys and their style choices of late. Warning, romance fans: these thoughts are not all that complimentary.

Oh, calm down. We’re not going to be mean. In truth, we think they have a unique issue among male stars when it comes to dressing for attention now: people are so used to seeing them undressed that formalwear winds up looking odder than usual on them. Having said that, we think they’re getting questionable style advice

We don’t expect a ton of agreement on this one, but we think the hair looks genuinely terrible on him. He should definitely play up his curls, but this is giving early aughts lesbian shag. We also think his team needs to take a lighter touch with the makeup. It’s looking a little precious. The tux is okay, but the fit is a bit loose and sloppy.

To us, this is a kind of Andrew Scott situation, where his team put him in a classic sexy man style but it doesn’t actually suit him all that well. The shirt is sloppy and too shiny, the cummerbund looks enormous with the open neckline, the full cut of the pants doesn’t play well with the dainty looking boots. The only thing that really works for him are the jewelry choices. We get the impulse to put these guys in sexy/romantic styles, but we think both of them are lapsing into style cliches that look dated.
