Well, so much for our observation that Elle Fanning had embraced wearing black. We should have known that Princess Pastel would return to form sooner rather than later. The star of Sentimental Value attended the LA premiere in a dress that would have been very pretty if it didn’t match her skin exactly.

We like how she’s holding the skirt like she’s trying to prove it’s a dress and that she’s not moulting on the carpet. Despite our opinion that this would be very pretty in a darker or richer color, we have to admit we hate the shape of it. We get that some people will always respond well to this sort of preciously romantic, tea-stained sort of vibe, but it’s never been our favorite style. On the other hand, we like how much she switched up her style in the 24 hours between premieres of two very different kinds of movies. We may not like each of her choices individually, but we respect that they’re such considered choices.
