The stars came out for the Valentino show in some relatively goofy fits. Let’s assess.

This looks like someone overestimated his ability to work multiple prints and color stories at once. It doesn’t help that the coat is kind of ugly. That peach lining made us wince. That combination of colors and stripes in the turtleneck render it nearly unwearable. Love the shoes, though.

The dress is kind of pretty, but those fur … things are incredibly dumb. Also the color is insipid and that bag absolutely does not go.

We don’t know… the way she’s clutching that jacket doesn’t exactly sell the idea that she’s loving whatever they put her in. From what we can tell, she’s right to keep that thing closed. The problem with patterned tights is that there’s a nearly invisible line separating “fun and sexy” from “five-year-old at a birthday party.”

Believe it or not, we actually like the turtleneck. We realize we’ve spent a decade or more railing against their evil qualities, but when a garment or style works, it works. The stripes really make it. Unfortunately, the wholly incongruous sports coat pretty much ruins it. Those items do not belong together. Also, the beltless trend must die.
