Emma Thompson came to the New Yorker Festival working a look that feels like classic autumn-in-the-city style while also feeling like the kind of quirky oddness she can’t help but be drawn to.
We kept trying to convince ourselves we love the top, but then she took the jacket off and removed all doubt for us. We don’t quite hate it, but we sure wish it weren’t so shiny. Satin cowl necks shouldn’t exist, probably. It’s a shame, because the pants and the jacket are both really great. All it needed was a simple sweater, not this overwrought thing.
