Cate Blanchett ramped up her style after several rather laid-back appearances at the Venice Film Festival in order to join her elegant co-stars Charlotte Rampling, Indya Moore, Mayim Bialik and Vicky Krieps for the premiere of Father Mother Sister Brother, a film with a title we have never managed to get right on the first try.

In other words, she brought her A game in order to stand next to these ladies.

This is crazy, but we love it for her. In fact, we think it’s a dress that found its perfect wearer. Maybe Tilda Swinton could work it, but to our eyes, this is the essence of Good Lady Cate style; a combination of wildness and restraint, elegance and punk. Love the hair. Love the simplicity of the bodice.

A classic working a classic to perfection.

Lovely textile; the color looks great on her and we love the gold accessories. We’re not as in love the volume, but it’s not a dealbreaker. She looks very pretty.

It’s a sharp look, but it seems like the top she’s wearing is adding bulk underneath the jacket. She might have gone for something a little sleeker underneath.

It’s dramatic as hell and she’s extremely well suited to it. Love the choice of shoe. The hair is cute but we don’t think it coordinates well with the dress.
