We will never not be amazed by Toni Collette’s style preferences. The star of Wayward hit the red carpet for the premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival sporting an ensemble that begs for the spotlight:
Believe it or not, while this is very much within her style preferences, it’s actually more modern and of-the-moment than her usual choices, which all tend toward “prairie dresses for fabric dolls with yarn hair.” She would appear to be someone who prefers coverage on the red carpet, but she’s made the mistake of thinking that the only way to make modest styles interesting enough for the red carpet is to pile them up with so much frippery that you can’t help but stare. We could never bring ourselves to love this no matter what changes were made to it, but our main quibbles come down to the awful shoulder ruffles, the flowers around the cuffs, and the sandals, which look really odd with such an overwhelming, high-collared outfit.
