Oh, no. Laura Dern wore a sheer lace cape, you guys. Even worse: we’re going to force you to vote on it. The star of Jay Kelly came to the New York Film Festival premiere working a look that we definitely would not have suggested for her.

But given how light-sucking and featureless it comes across in pictures, maybe the look works? That’s what you’re here to determine. Personally, we don’t see her as a black lace gown kind of gal, nor do we think she takes well to wearing a cape. The design somehow manages to come across dowdy, even though it’s a mostly sheer gown. In addition, the style of lace has an effect we can only characterize as “moth-eaten.” We’ll give her credit for knowing herself well enough to realize she needed a lining, but the overall style really doesn’t suit her, to our eyes. What do your eyes tell you?
