This would normally be the moment when we intone something like “Pope Tilda has arrived at the Venice Film Festival,” except we don’t quite think her usual T Lo honorific applies here. It would seem that the pontiff is feeling more like a Mother Superior these days.
In other words, your pope is feeling a bit femme at the moment. Personally, we can’t say this is wowing us all that much. The entire style seems a little off. We can understand why she’d go for a big, dramatic skirt, but that top doesn’t suit her at all. It looks flimsy and those ruffle cuffs don’t suit her. In addition, the hair’s looking a little puffy to us and (here’s a phrase we never thought we’d write) her makeup is too heavy. She looks like she got slapped.
