We’ve been very supportive of Wednesday star Jenna Ortega’s take on goth-inspired style while promoting the show’s second season. She’s avoided dressing like the character and instead is dressing with an eye on the genre, vibe and tone of the project, which is exactly how good promotional wardrobes should be devised. Having said all of that, her latest look is one that we can understand, but can’t support.
In other words, we can understand why she’d choose this dégradé/deconstructed style because it works with the gothic horror vibe of the show without looking like a costume from it. We can’t support it, however, because it’s hideous. Sorry, girl. We get it, but we hate it.
